Information
This story is set in a fantasy world that is somewhat unusual by the genre's conventions. Here are a few pieces of information that a reader may need before beginning 'The Will of Irkaan'.
- Time in this world is primarily divided not into years but into units called 'cycles' which consist of 480 days.
- The people here do not use the word 'West' to describe the cardinal direction to the opposite of East. Instead they prefer to use 'Kalibbimnortsinfot'. How that is pronounced is open to interpretation.
- Among the conventional ancient/medieval weapons used by characters in this story, there is also a weapon unique to the world. The deathspoon is in essence no more than a tablespoon enlarged by a factor of ten with a sharpened edge.
- Etreus is the name given to the moon. It differs from our own moon in that it is not spherical and changes colours based on the seasons.
