Skillful writing expressed in an intriguing story!
"Lovely beginning with the rain and the weather. I liked the action-packed flashback you used effectively as an intro. I admired your vivid detailed descriptions of poetic feel. You have skillfully used flashbacks to connect the past to threads of the present. Ness is an intriguing character to follow around. Oh, did i forget? The talking snake part adds another intriguing dimension to the story i thought was gripping. There is an eerie feeling to this story that gives it a pleasant uniqueness. I enjoyed reading it. and i must say i admire your skill in telling Ness's story using the present tense and you've somehow inspired me to give that style a try in my next novel."

"I wasn't sure exactly what kind of book Ness was going to be at first, and after reading every chapter you've uploaded so far, I still don't know if I can pin it down. That isn't a bad thing. This is definitely one of the most unique stories I have ever read. You clearly put a lot of thought and detail into the character of Ness, her state of mind, her appearance, her mannerisms, her emotions. You have really brought her to life in a wonderful way. The plot thus far almost resembles a superhero orgin story, but it is presented in such a unique and clever way that it doesn't feel like a knock-off. The way Ness obtains her abilities is very interesting and not like any other story of this type that I've encountered. The imagery is fantastic, and don't even get me started on the talking snake haha. Ness is not the kind of book I would normally read but your writing style and descriptions drew me in and kept me interested. I'm intrigued to see how she will deal with the harsh reality of facing the world with her new appearance and abilities. I'll definitely continue to read, so keep it up! "
like a fever dream
""Ness" reads like a highly enjoyable fever dream. There are a lot of elements in play (superheroes, snakes, aftershocks of trauma, and celebrity life), and it serves to create a dynamic, immersive atmosphere. Readers who love "weird" books will definitely appreciate what's done here. The writing style is experimental in its choice of omniscient narration, though it does create a bit of distance between the characters and the reader. The disjointed structure of the plot adds to the dark, strange vibe the story gives off. There's really nothing else I've read remotely quite like this. And even with heavy topics such as trauma or crime, there's still some funny moments I laughed out loud at (the personified, talking snakes being my favorite). I recommend reading this book if you're looking for a fresh take on the superhero origin genre."

Beautiful read
"It isn't very often that you run across an amateur author that actually writes expertly. Kayliani has done her due diligence to produce a publish worthy read, clear of any noticeable spelling and grammatical issues. From chapter one we are introduced into a cast of characters that already have their own unique characteristics and voices. Without giving a long and tedious backstory, or worse, an information dump, Kayliani throws her readers right into the action. I personally appreciate that her book isn't cliche like most online novellas I find online, and I know she will do great with 'Ness'. Great job, Kayliani! Keep up the great work!"

A very insteresting beginning
"The author asked me to have a look at her work, and I must say I like the beginning of the novel. It sells itself as a superhero story, but it has a different approach to what you probably think of when that word is said. It has a strange (in a good way) approach that actually feels somewhat sinister in it's appearance. Overall I found the writing to be quite clear, and enjoyable. Very few mistakes grammar-wise, and actively written. I recommend it."
