Video Game Madness!
" Lydia Johnson has grown bored with her daily work routine even though it provides her with many financial comforts. But is this what she wanted out of life? To rubber stamp the approval/disproval of video games while finding ways to avoid a mother who still attempts to dominate her even though Lydia is a grown woman. She yearns for change, a sense of adventure? But what can be done when she is chained to her nine to five job? It is then when a car accident provides a way out. She is given a new identity, a new purpose. Even her physical appearance is no longer the same. At first Lydia/Portea is grateful for all the excitement and new challenges. But as she is taken to trial, she slowly realizes that change comes with a cost and to loose in this game may cost her and the nation of monsters all of their lives. I liked this story. I found it quite engaging. The title is a bit deceptive. I for one was imagining this psychopathic woman who would be the leader of a gang of criminals preparing for their next crime spree. Instead author Morgan Powers has created a relatable character that I couldn’t help but greatly sympathize with. (Lord knows I can relate to Lydia. But perhaps the less said about that the better.) Morgan is also a skilled writer and avoids the past/present tense trouble I often see on Inkitt. Glad I discovered this novel and keep your eyes on Morgan Powers. We maybe hearing big things from her in the years to come. "
