Kidnapping, mystery and intrigue!

This was a unique way to start a new series and I fell in love with it right off. I was quite surprised with the story and yet it felt right. I agree with Clara above, finally a VERY strong female character that really takes charge. I can see the amount of research that was done in bringing this to life was fantastic. I love the descriptions and really felt involved with the localities. What are you going to like? You’re going to like the well written flow to this story, how it does not get to mind boggling and yet gives you enough details that you know what is happening all the time with delightful descriptions. You will like the focus of the romance, mystery and the interaction with the other characters bringing it all alive and with this great plot but with an ending that will lead to more and hopefully not stop there. I loved the possibilities that the storyline gives and how it will play out in the future. I also liked that it was more than the vampire/werewolf type plot… as it leaves so much to the imagination. Can’t wait for the next book don’t let us down keep going!"
Intriguing Story
"I only read a portion of this book as part of the Pass it On Challenge, but what I read was entirely engrossing and well written. The main character is likable and there is a real sense of mystery surrounding the beginning of this story. It's no surprise that this is a published book on Inkitt and I would encourage anyone to check it out!"
So cute!
"The Aureate Spectacles easily won me over with its witty, humorous similes and descriptions -- the writing style was lovely. What I loved the most about this piece is that the romance didn't meddle with or distort any of the plot's elements and especially Michaela's growth as a person and leader, so unlike others I've read. And the forced subtlety of romantic scenes (due to Michaela's and Conrad's circumstances) increased their effect on me. A more thorough round of proofreading would make the story more perfect, as there were many run-on sentences and words replaced by their homophones (like "heal" instead of heel"). Do know that these can be overlooked (as I had) because the story truly is engrossing, but the quality of the work will improve and reading will have a more natural flow should these be rechecked. Anyway, thank you very much for this wonderful piece and for all the new words added to my vocabulary. It was one storm of a ride! Kudos!"

"This book is a solid read. I thought it might be too girly, but it had plenty of action and the slight amount of romance is tasteful. The descriptions are crazy, about as close to virtual reality as reading gets, the Sylva are legitimately scary, and I found Michaela's inner thoughts amusing enough to lighten the serious parts of the story line."
