Chapter 1
My head is aching. The question I want to ask everyone right now is where I’m at. All I see is white sheets on me, and bodies standing around me. I want to talk, but I’m hurt beside the corners of my mouth. What happened? Am I...Dead?!
" Where am I..?” I finally spoke. My voice and soft and cracked. I know there is people beside me. I can see them, but my vision is blurry.
I start moving around a bit. I try and talk again, but I felt the urge to stay silent. Gosh. What in god sakes is happening right now?
" Sweetheart, your awake.” Somebody spoke. Who? I have no idea. Their voice was girly. Who was it? I need to figure out where I am.
“I can’t see.” I do not know. Is my vision blurry? Do i wear glasses? I have so many questions, cause right now, I’m in confusion-world.
Theirs white all around me. White coats on the people, white bright light, white bed sheets, white walls, it goes on. Why cant they just tell me where I am, and I can go back home.
But wait.
Am I at home?
Who knows? Nobody tells me anything anyways. I should not even ask.
Minutes later, somebody starts approaching me.
" Hi.” She puts glasses on me, then dims the light down a little so it will not shine in my eyes. I can finally see. I see about 5 or 6 people in white coats. Am I at the hospital? I must be. I doubt theirs doctors at home, my dad will not open the door for anybody.
I look around and see her. My mom. I know it is her. She has long brown hair, Pink glasses, and a tan skin tone. She stares at me and smiles.
I am so lost at this point. Somebody tells me! Where am I?
One of the people in the white coat tells my mom what happened to me. I listen.
“So, she got hit by a car, and you saw her laying in the street? ”
My mom nods.
“She was unconscious, but, somehow, she didn’t lose her memory, Good though. If she did, she would’ve been really confused.” The lady said.
Oh wow. I got hit by a car. And if I lost my memory, I would have been confused? Well look here lady, I still am confused whether
I lost my memory or not.
I spoke clearly. ” Ma’am, I’m in the hospital correct?”
She nods.
“And I got hit by a car?” She nods again.
How long have I been here? I wanted to talk again, but my head aches again. I just want to go back home. I almost speak again, until I remember something.
*** Flashback ***
I am just walking down the street with my bestie Cierra. We are talking about school and our grades.
“Hey Aubrey, did you get all A’s this semester?” Cierra asks.
“Almost. All A’s and a B. I hate social studies. ” I answer.
We both laugh.
I am still walking as Cierra moves over to the side.
" Car coming, come over here to the sidewalk.” She says.
I was about to move over there, until I hear my mom say my name.
" AUBREY! COME CLEAN YOUR ROOM.”
I told Cierra I would be back.
The car was much closer now.
I go across the street, not even looking both ways.
I was in the middle of the street. Until i hear Cierra scream.
" WATCH OUT!”
I looked back, and that is when it happened.
