Chapter 1: Year 79 AD 3:00 AM
I was awoken by a large rumble in the ground and my confused sibling. A loud bang soon followed after along with loud screams behind a seemingly endless and deafening sound. We heard the rumble of the floor on the floor beneath us. Another deafening bang soon followed after, the room we were in was no longer safe, and shockingly neither mother nor father came for us. I grabbed My brother Balisius and ran out of my room and down the stairs and through the city streets decorated with tattered clothes and broken rubbled pieces of cobblestone. Large boulders and pieces of arches collapsed on the street behind us and one man beside us was crushed by another. Balisius and I were nearing the exit bridge and saw a gap between the arches that hold up the bridge. My brain stopped and tried to think about how to make it. I thought I could, but could I?
