Chapter 1

Two Adventurous friends who are Marlow and Everette wanted to explore the woods that was nearby where they lived. They live in a town called Lyvia ‘lie via’. The woods were quite big as it was apart of the mountains,

They both had hiking bags as they were busy climbing the rocky part of the forest. “Hey Marlow, the clouds are turning gray. Do you think it might rain?” ask Everette as the wind started to mess up her long light brown hair that was put into a messy bun. “I don’t know, do you think we should look for a cave or something?” replied Marlow as her short dark brown hair started to get messy and her glasses fogging up to the wind too.

The wind picked up as the leaves on the trees started moving. The rain started pouring and a loud thunder strikes one of the trees as it started falling down. The girls were shocked and started panicking as more thunder strike.

“Marlow! we should hurry!” shouted Everette as they saw a cave-look-alike in the distance. As they came closer they saw it was a small cave.

They sat down their hiking bags down and made a mini fire with some toilet paper and a lighter.

“Gosh, the weather app didn’t say it was going to rain today.” sighed Marlow. “I believe the rain should stop soon,” Everette looked outside to see the rain did decrease a bit.

After a while the rain stopped, they both exited the cave with their hiking bags when the mud on the ground dried up a bit since they didn’t want their shoes to get muddy since it’s hard to wash off dried mud.

“Let’s go home, we should be able to get out using our map,” Marlow said as she pulled a map out of her bag. The map corners were soggy but that doesn’t matter too much, “Looks like we’re going south-ish.” Marlow said as she fixes her glasses and puts the map back into her bag and they both start walking south.

“Wait Marlow, do you see that in the distance?” asked Everette in curiosity when looking at the dark box-shaped figure in the distance.

“Huh? Wait yeah, What is that?” replied Marlow as she saw what Everette was talking about.

“Well, wanna check it out!” shouted Everette in excitement as she loves exploring things. “Sure...” Marlow said as they started walking towards the dark box-like figure.

As they came closer they saw it was a phone booth covered in dirt and vines growing on it.

“Oh wow... That’s a FREAKING phone booth!” shouted Everette since she has never seen one before. “Wait, why is it in the forest?” Marlow asked as she realized that phone booths aren’t usually in the woods especially in the middle of the woods.

Everette admired it while Marlow looked at their surroundings and finding fairy circles around them, some around trees and one around the phone booth (I don’t know if fairy circles grow around stuff but pretend for the story) Marlow didn’t really know a thing about fairy circles or how one even looked like.

“Hey Everette look at these circles, It’s almost a perfect circle. Strange that mushrooms even grow in circles. I’m going to note that when we get home.” Marlow said as she raised from her crouch position and looking over at Everette.

" Oh, that’s quite cool!” Everette replied as she looked away from the phone booth to what Marlow was talking about. ” I didn’t even notice them we came here,” Everette said as she looked more closely at their surroundings and she noticed a lot of them.

“Anyway! I wanna see if this weird phonebooth still works!” Everette shouted. ” I doubt it’s still going to work,” replied Marlow. ” Well, you never know until you try it,” sighed Everette as she entered the phone booth while Marlow stood outside the phone booth.

" You don’t perhaps have a penny, do you?” asked Everette as she remembered it needed a penny to work. ” I actually do have one on me right now,” replied Marlow as she reached into her pocket to find a penny.

“Here you go,” Marlow gave Everette the penny as she pulled out her phone. Everette quickly entered the penny into the slot and ringed the numbers of Marlow’s phone number.

Marlow’s phone started vibrating, she answered and replied ” Well looks like it actually works,“. “Omg, it did, that so cool!” Everette shouted in fascination as she exited the phone booth and went to Marlow who was slightly chuckling at her friend’s behavior.

“Let’s get going now and no more distractions,” Marlow said as they both turned around to start walking home.

After a few hours of walking, they finally reach Lyvia. “Man, that was so fun,” Everette said smiling as they both came to the part where they separate.

" See you at school Everette,” Marlow walking her direction to her house, and Everette watching as her figure disappear. Her smile dropped and turning to a slight frown.

“Should I have told her that when I called her number a different voice answered?” ” There is probably an error with the phone lines, after all, it has been standing there for centuries,” Everette sighed and starts walking home.
