Ash and dust saga book one
"This is a throughly engaging and ripping yarn ... I loved the writing style .. the flashbacks so real that the current moments forgotten .. it is a great read and one I would recommend to anyone that enjoys a bit of a mystery .. wrapped up in a story .. carried by well described characters .. and sufficiently strange circumstances as to render one believing in magic .. "
Amazing. Deserves a big audience
"This book's premise immediately drew me in. Reading it to the end, I was not disappointed. The protagonist is interesting and charismatic. The richly detailed setting, while it may seem at first like traditional fantasy, quickly proves to be something much more enigmatic. It subverts the hero's journey in some interesting ways. It delves into the aftermath of the epic final battle which usually caps a fantasy epic. Telling most of the story in flashback form would usually rob it of some of the tension. You know the protagonist will live to tell the tale. The way it's done here, however, makes you really want to know how she did it, and what happened in the meantime. A lot of it, the action scenes in particular, also has a distinct RPG feel. Overall, a stellar fantasy story, with elements of a couple other genres. I look forward to book two."
Adventure writing at its finest.
"With a tantalising end to the first chapter, the authour has given us a treat and a welcome addition to the fantasy adventure genre. To limit it to just such would be an injustice however, as this novel clearly draws on elements of historical fiction, fairy tale and horror. Simply, there's something here for everyone. The main character is intriguing, beguiling and frankly, interesting. Something which is often lacking in modern fiction where writers too often churn out one dimensional characters and set them on their way in a world set up entirely for them. This feels different. Its fast paced, very readable and stays with you. The characters become your friends. I have full faith in this novel and recommend that anyone read it."
Enthralling Doesn't do it Justice
"I started this book as any other, wondering how long it would take to really get immersed into the book. Not since reading The Martian by Andy Weir have I been so captivated within the first chapter of a book. I read till the end of chapter one and felt compelled to read on, I had so many questions I needed explaining, then I realised that has come from how it is written. Everything is drenched in beautiful and elegant detail that the realm of the book takes place from the very start. For me this book feels like my childhood, it reminds me of the old RPG video games that they no longer make, I am that curious child again, craving to find out as much as I can about everyone and everything you encounter. Just read the first chapter and you'll find yourself asking questions that only the rets of the book can answer."
