On the road again
After waking Wren and Philippe got up to pack up for the journey. Once at the dining hall, they met Carmen, Zane and Laluna there along with the dwarf elf rulers. Once they had eaten a big breakfast they prepared for their goodbyes.0
King Elder Broder congratulated them again on their victory he again told them that their realm was in their debt. Prince Elder Shealt and the Princess Chelot hugged them all and said their goodbyes. Zane winked at Shealt and said next time we come through I’ll expect to meet your bride and younglings! The Prince blushed and gave a sheepish grin. With the goodbyes said Wren placed her hands out to the edge of the realm and they passed right through to the other side.
They all noticed right away that they were no longer in the beautiful realm. They were back in a dry sandy patch of earth between two forests. Zane laughed and said well Princess.. which way? Wren looked at Philippe with a smirk... well my Mage? Philippe rolled his eyes.. then shifted to the firm of the hawk. He flew high and around determining their route. Then he flew in front of the group and pointed the way. As the hawk approached Wren he returned to the form of her mate.
Wren smiled and watched his handsome physique as he morphed. I will never get used to that she said! Zane and Carmen rolled their eyes jokingly! Neither will we! Zane scoffed.! Laluna laughed her excited squeal. We all giggled.
On our way, Wren and Philippe arm in arm, followed by Zane and Carmen holding hands and of course Zane’s little sparrow perched atop his shoulder. We walked across the barren sands that lay between the forests. It seemed never ending and they longed for shade or at least a breeze.
Carmen wiped the sweat from her brow.. alright Wren can’t you whip us up a little breeze? If not Philippe will have to heal us all of heat stroke! Wren said of course! Why didn’t I think of it before? Zane said yeah Princess why didn’t you! with a playful tone. Wren turned a hand to Zane with a whirl of her wrist saying paralda preta winesh. She sent a wind blast at Zane nearly knocking him down! Wren and Carmen laughed hysterically! Zane laughed and regrouped himself. Laluna who had gone tumbling with the blast, pouted towards Wren. Well I never! She snorted then flew into Zane’s pocket. I’m taking a nap while you all get your act together! I’m sorry Wren said to Laluna. Laluna stuck her head up from behind his pocket. You should be! Uhhuh.... and poked her tiny head back in. We all just laughed. Wren conjured a light breeze to keep everyone cool.
Finally they reached the woods on the other side.
