01 - Gluttonous Gods
Not many people know this, but the only reason Gods created animals was to eat them. They never had any intention for them to inhabit the earth or have any lives at all but merely to be entrées, mains, desserts and a midnight snack to fill their gluttonous bellies.
Up in their cloudy realm above the earth the Gods had their very own special restaurant that served only the freshest food. The Gods would never be caught eating food that was killed and cooked. They had their own amazing chef who could whip up anything they could dream of; from a slimy snake to be eaten like udon, fried chicken still flapping around the room and giant whales that would somehow be swallowed in one gulp.
They would gorge on every animal no matter how cute or cuddly, to them they were a fun meal to be consumed.
After a millennia of gobbling animals one of the Gods began to tire of seeing countless creatures devoured. She decided to play a trick on the greedy Gods and free the creatures from their torment and help them make an escape to the earthly realm below.
At the next meal time the rebellious Goddess morphed herself into a small bird and as the animals began to flood into the restaurant she joined them, immediately flying at the Gods, swooping in between their chubby fingers, forks, spoons and chopsticks, pecking at their bloated faces.
The arrogant Gods not wanting to be outdone by a simple creature lost focus of the other creatures and began to try to catch her, climbing over tables, smashing chairs, breaking bottles and destroying the restaurants foundations.
The animals free from the clutches of the Gods began to climb through the broken floorboards of the restaurant, slither out the cracks in the wall and fly through the smashed windows.
The defiant Goddess in all the commotion and excitement flew out the window to avoid the wrath of the hungry Gods. As soon as she did this she realised she had made a big mistake. As she had entered the Earthly realm she had lost all her Godly powers. No longer could she enter the restaurant or turn back into her Goddess form.
The Gods seeing the little bird struggle and try to re-enter the restaurant realised they had been tricked by one of their own and made a mockery of. In their arrogance they burst into a chorus of laughter, pointing and jeering at the little bird. One of the Gods with a cruel smile on his face ordered the chefs to bring in another plate of food.
‘‘Bird for dinner!’’ He cackled.
