Life in an Anecdote
Heyy... HeYyyy, Stop right there. Pause for a moment... take a deep breath, look at the mirror and just stare at it for a bit. Pat yourself good enough, no one’s lookin at you. I know it’s tiring these days, life ain’t easy. Shit’s getting harder day by day and it has been, for others too, and will always be the way it is. It’s just that now you can feel it.
I know you don’t wanna have problems in your life, I mean no one wants that, but think here for a second... if you get a wish to erase all of it, would you do that?? Now don’t come to me all rushed up saying yes... I said give it a good old thought. Probably not, right!! Humans are evolved like that. They can’t settle for one. Soon enough your greed will become your need and you can’t help it. Dogs live about an average of 10 to 12 years which is approx 1/7th of a human life span. It’s because they don’t take a whole century to figure out what life is all about and how to make the most out of it (I know it was a lame one*). But then, of course, they don’t need to and we don’t have a choice but we have to.
Most of us probably think happiness and sadness are two different poles, one might touch the peak while the other will fall just like a parabolic graph. But what they don’t understand is that neither of the feelings would exist if the other disappears. The measure of happiness is judged against the degree of sadness. It’s like a colorful ball mixed with emotions, it’s on you how you perceive it. The harder you try to separate the colors, the less time you get to play with it. Some might even break it in the process and realize that they are fucked now. (Yes that was inside out reference*) The fear of losing your happiness itself will bring you sadness alongside and the little pushes that you make hoping hardships will come to an end one day will bring you joy. You can’t really control it but the one thing you can do is to realize the fact that everything happens for a reason and you should accept it gracefully. Good things will seemingly go fast as we enjoy it, bad times will take their time as we suffer all the way, all we gotta do is to work on our mistakes and weaknesses instead of bragging about them.
I don’t wanna make this a monologue so here’s a situation just so you can relate to it. People used to claim themselves to be an introvert just to symbolize why they are not good at socializing but now every other person does so just to look cool. I mean explaining your weaknesses is one thing but bragging about it won’t get you anywhere. Being an introvert isn’t your fault, but dying as one is definitely on you. Nowadays fat acceptance is also a very common thing. People believe bodies of all shapes and sizes are beautiful which I think is a subjective opinion and I respect that, but It kills the motivation to do the right thing. Being fat or skinny is not beautiful, but it’s ok to not look good all the time. Maintaining fitness is still in our hands, at least it’s not like skin tone that completely depends on melanin count.
You might be feeling “Okay dude enough, now get to the point and tell us your take on how to live a life”. No!! that’s not my job, as even I didn’t figure that out yet. The whole point of all this is to remind you to be grateful for what you have and to not worry about what you lost, as the future is still in your hands. Step out, make some friends… maintain a schedule, eat healthy... Laugh, cry but don’t sit idle. Broaden your perspectives, narrow down your opinions. Make mistakes, don’t complain… learn from it, and cover up before the climax shows up. It’s as said, “It is never too late”.
