Prologue
Blood. Blood is what I saw as soon as I entered Christiana’s room. The police restricted us from going closer to Christiana’s body. Her body, without life. It was 3 am. Every person around me was crying. But I knew that my tears would not cure the situation. I knew what I had to do.
“I need to go,” I said to Arlo, he was sobbing.
“Where?” he said
“I can’t tell right now. Take care of everyone,” I whispered.
“I am coming with you,” said Arlo
“No,” I said. My eyes were red, not out of pain or pity, but anger. I don’t know where my Adrenaline could take me, but I cannot remain silent. If I do not take any step, then one-by-one we will lose every member of the Quintet.
Arlo did not utter a word again. I turned around and closed my eyes for a few seconds. I could not see Amella’s condition, she lost her father, and now she lost her friend, her roommate. I could not break down. I need to fight the situation.
I opened my eyes and walked out of Christiana’s house. I sat down in the driver’s seat and tightened the seat belt. It is time to answer. I drove straight to Atticus. To Sherli.
