Short Dialogue Story

Sam and Charlie were playing pirate, the game was quite simple. One person was captain, the other was a crewman. They played this game in their backyard, a giant sandbox was the ship. You could hear waves crashing against a ship from a speaker they used as well. Sam and Charlie were also brothers about the ages of 6 and 7.

Sam’s blonde hair stuck out under the worn pirate's hat on his head. He was grinning, with his green eyes gleaming in the sun as he held a plastic sword up high all while yelling “ARRGH!”

“Sam, you’re always captain! Let me be captain for once will ya!” Charlie yelled in Sam’s face, although Charlie was angry, his bright blonde hair and blue eyes almost blinded Sam, making him smile.

“No way! I won this role fair and square!” Sam said, laughing a little then getting back into character.

“Get to work boy! Those sails won’t tend to themselves will they!?” Sam scowled at his younger brother.

“Yes cap’n,” Charlie said, he was about to turn around when he saw Sam glaring at him. “I-I mean no, right away captain.” Charlie turned quickly and about face planted into the sand when he tripped over what he thought was his brother’s foot. Charlie was probably imagining it, Charlie got up and pulled an invisible rope near the edge of the sandbox.

“RRRRR!” Sam yelled, steering an invisible wheel behind Charlie, Sam was standing on a stool to make him look like he was on a higher level of the ship.

“Boys! Lunchtime!” A woman shouted from a sliding glass door that led into a living room, her curly blonde hair waving in the wind as she waved to her two sons.

A loud siren came blaring down their street, making both boys jump.

“Look what you did Sam! The police are after you because you keep being captain and not sharing!” Charlie pointed at Sam, sticking his tongue out at his older brother.

“Nuh Uh! I did nutin wrong Charlie. I won this role with a fair game of rock paper scissors! You’re just jealous that I have better luck, thank you.” Sam rolled his eyes, putting his hand on his hips.

“Both of you need to be quiet. The police aren’t coming for either of you! Now come eat before your food gets cold.” Their mom exclaimed then walked back inside.
