The Dinner Meeting
The first thing I learned was that being a werewolf was no easy feat. Especially when you have a deadly secret.
"WINTER!!!" My dad yells downstairs. I roll my eyes and slowly make my way to the steep stairs that connect the lavish upstairs to the dark and dreary downstairs. The upstairs belongs to my parents and they spare no expense. The couch is lined with gold and made from the finest and softest fabric. The window is extravagantly large and is basically a wall. The kitchen has all of the latest appliances and newest tile. I set myself upon the lavishly decorated couch and stare at my dad as he looks at me like I forgot something. Maybe I did. He has set me up on so many dinner dates I have trouble keeping up and eventually gave up and let him chew me out for not remembering. I stare at him expectantly and he opens his mouth and I brace myself for yelling. He surprises me. "One of the neighboring pack's Alpha and Luna will be here soon and I need you to get dressed. Your mother will be here soon with them," I breathe a sigh of relief and walk towards the immense closet that is in an amazingly decorated room that I sleep in when we have guests stay the night. I pick out a simple dress. It's white with a simple teal vine pattern that wraps around my body. It's a long sleeve dress but I grab the thin cardigan that goes with it. The cardigan is a violet purple with a flower pattern that matches up with the vine pattern on the dress. I hear the car pull up and I step out of my room and head towards the door to greet our guests. I reach the foyer just in time to be able to open the door for them. When I open the door I am immediately engulfed in a lung squeezing hug. I recognize the scent before I am able to see who it is.
"Luna Stella!" I exclaim.
"Oh no need for the formality dear," she says, holding me out so she can see me. I smile widely and peek around her figure to her husband and young daughter. Alpha Derdik smiles back and their daughter waves shyly. I quickly break away from Luna Stella's hug and hold out my hand.
"Hi! My name is Winter! What's your name?"
"Fia," she mumbles taking my hand for a handshake. Instead, and much to her surprise, I pull her into a short hug.
"You really didn't think you'd get away with a simple handshake did you?!" I tease and ruffle her hair a little bit. She laughs and I know it did the trick. I smile, happy that she is no longer intimidated to be in this house. I turn my attention to Alpha Derdik and extend my hand again. He looks at it wearily and slowly extends his hand to grasp mine. "Alpha Derdik, you know I wouldn't hug you. I know guys too well," He laughs. I frown, however, because it seems the laugh is forced, instead of the easy laugh that usually booms from his mouth. This is no simple dinner date, the Alphas need to discuss something important. Being head trainer, my dad would have to be privy. I quickly plaster a smile back on my face, but by the way Alpha Derdik is staring at me, he didn't miss it. Are there more rouges?
Not that I know of, but of course we are limited in the space we can run.
Well yeah but do you remember hearing anything, Rya?
No.
Well crap.
I'll keep my ears open tonight.
Yeah. We need to know what's going on if we are to help.
If they want us to help that is.
I don't care about permission shit. Since when did you start caring?
Since it started annoying you.
Of course.
Ignoring Rya, I turn back to the little girl who now seems to be exploring the kitchen. I walk up to her and scoop her up into my arms and put her on her shoulder. She sequels in delight as she goes from looking at everything from a 2 foot view to an 7 foot view. Of course I can get away with it up here but if I was down in my den, it would be a very tight fit. Just then, Alpha Richard and Luna Harper walk into the room. Being the huge tease he is, Alpha Richard looks up at the young girl and smiles warmly. "Well now ma'am, it is lovely to meet you. Might I inquire how you got so tall?" I give Alpha Richard a playful glare.
Fia leans down and whispers, "What do I say?"
I think for a moment and decide on an old inside joke, "Tell him an elevator went up without you so you had to get tall to catch the next one," She looks at me, puzzled, but still repeats what I've said. He groans while Luna Harper giggles.
"I'll never live that one down now will I?"
"Nope" I say while I put Fia on the ground. I noticed that my youngest brother peaked his head around the corner and she must have noticed too because the moment her feet touch the ground, she bolts, landing on him. They burst out in a fit of giggles. I smile and turn my head to my Alpha and Luna. I see that their son, Jerish, is slowly creeping up behind them. I turn my attention back to the couple and start rambling utter nonsense.
"I mean it's not like you grew taller. You just now have an extreme hate for elevators. But, if you think about it, you were the one who was talking to that human entrepreneur so-"
Jerish taps their shoulders and yells in triumph when the two of them jump, startled. "Yes!! I finally got you!!!"
"Um, hello? Did you seriously just take all the credit? I helped you do it ya know."
"Yeah, sorry Winter, I forgot. I-"
I smirk, "Wow I'm that easy to forget about?!?! Oh no!! I'm gonna die! You forgot about me! I better go run to my room crying then. Make way everyone! The Alpha's son forgot about me!!! It's a tragedy!!" He groans at the memory. Earlier that week Jerish rejected the advances of a primpy bitch called Joanna. She tried to cuddle up to him and have him make her his chosen mate. When he said no she ran off crying. The next day she confronted him (unfortunately for her, within my earshot) and asked him why after all the "great times" they spent together. (Might I say that that never happened. They didn't even go on a date let alone hang around each other. Much to her dismay might I add.) He again rejected her but she kept begging and it was giving me a headache so I walked over to her and told her to shut the fuck up and shove off. Well then she kinda said something along the lines of "Honey!! She yelled at me!" Well that was my last straw and I kinda may have (I totally did) shoved her away from him. I mean, can you really blame me? He clearly rejected her so what else am I supposed to do?
Maybe be less violent?
Yeah, uh huh. Be less violent when I easily have the most violent wolf. Yeah, that makes total sense.
Just throwing out suggestions. I mean it is possible to be more passive.
Yeah. When pigs fly.
You could be more open to the idea.
I'm a violent person. What do you expect.
I give up.
Surprising.
Oh shut it.

Author's Note
Hello everyone!! I'm so happy y'all decided to start reading this book. Now a word of warning, I probably won't update regularly or have great grammar, punctuation, or spelling. You can interpret the names however you want, honestly half the names that will be used are just random letters thrown together to make a name. Please leave any suggestions for me and I will try and make my book better. Also I have a habit of leaving books so if you see that a chapter hasn't been posted in say a month then please feel free to comment to ask if I'm going to update. Thank y'all so much!!!

I really like the relationship with her and her wolf ❤️
