~Preface

Teeth gnashed and claws tore through flesh as the wolves battled until one was victorious with the other laying broken and dying in the cold woods. Riku stood there over the kill breathing hard and assessing his wounds, he would heal fast, but the wounds would hurt for a bit. Alpha Nicholai would be pleased that the rogue was no more, he had been plaguing the pack for several days stealing food and accosting a couple of she-wolves but no lasting injuries. He must report back to his father the Beta, Xaivier. He ran in wolf form to the edge of the pack grounds shifting and grabbed a pair of shorts that were stashed there before reporting.

Mindlinking the Beta and Alpha, ‘Sirs, the threat has been neutralized.’

‘Well done, Vasili, shower and report to my office.’

‘Yes sir, Alpha.’ He smiled as he took the stairs two at a time to his room on the second floor. Vas needed to clean the blood off of himself and be presentable to his father and the Alpha. Toweling off his hair he walked back into his room naked and into the closet to get a clean shirt and then underwear and jeans from his dresser before putting on his beloved sandals and going up one floor to the Alpha’s office.

Before he could knock, the Alpha said “Enter.” Vasili opened the door entered and closed it behind himself before standing at ease with his hands behind his back. “Report.”

“The rogue was neutralized in the forest in wolf form, and I made sure it was dead before I came back.” “Good job Vasili, you have earned a couple of days off, go enjoy them however you see fit.”

“Yeah, fishing at Hidden Lake, dad, you know the place.”

“Yep, if we need you, we will mindlink you.”

“Thanks, see you in a couple of days.”

“You are dismissed.”

Vasili turned left the room and went to his to retrieve his pole and backpack that was ready for such an occasion, heading out the back door to the woods and his relaxing two days off. He had been there for a day and a half when he started getting an edgy feeling in the pit of his stomach, ‘What is it Riku?’ ‘Not sure, have never felt this before but it puts me on high alert, not like any rogues, no smell of them anywhere near. ’Should we go home?’ ‘Why not mindlink your father and see if anything is out of the ordinary.’ ‘Sounds like a plan.’

‘Dad, is everything okay there at the pack house?’

‘Yes and no, nothing for you to worry about enjoy the rest of your time off,’ he said breaking the mindlink and blocking Vasili. He tried his mom, but she had him blocked completely. Now he was not in the mood for the lake anymore, so he packed up and headed back home.

His Forsaken Fate

Bargara4670: I have marked the ratings down because it was obviously originally written in a foreign language and translated into English. I hope that whoever edited the second half will go back and do the same to the first half. Having said that, this was a well-thought-out plot which kept me interested enough ...

Ingibabes511: Beautiful storytelling, too short but crafted wonderfully, your ability to draw us in with just a few short descriptive nuances and I for one would not be unhappy if you decided to make this into a series following their lives, where we learn more about her goddess given talents and if they have pup...
