Chapter 1
Alexis was a 26-year-old who had been working for the same company for the past 8 years. She worked her way up from a receptionist to an executive assistant. She interned for the company on her last year of high school and she was promised a position once she graduated college. She worked for them part time all through college and she knew she worked hard to get to her executive assistant position in the company. She had been an executive assistant for the past 4 years; right after she graduated with her degree. Alexis was nervous about being pregnant but also excited about becoming a mom. She had always pictured herself married before having kids, but it seems like life had a mind of its own. She was nervous about telling the father because she was not sure how he would react. She knew she wanted this baby even if he did not want to be apart of the baby’s life. Once she told her parents and friends, she knew they would be her support system. She only had to work up the courage to tell them first and then she knew they would be happy for her and the baby.
