Chapter 1 - Intro

I woke up with my head aching, finding myself in a queer room. I stand up, observing my surroundings, and discover that I was not alone but rather had company with other people I could not identify who was also unconscious. A boy who seemed almost the same age as I was stiffly seated right next to me unconsciously.

I start observing the room hoping to find an exit but I couldn’t find any way to escape. I sit back at the place I was unconscious earlier trying to recollect my memories only to realize there was nothing I could recollect. After some minutes of trying, a brown envelope with a weird sign on it caught my intuition. I snatch it from where it was laying and rip it open, I browse through the petition.

“I remember now,” I mumble, “I’m here because of this, this is what brought me here”.

I put the petition back down as my memories come back. “I wanted to win this event so that they could grant me my wish, my wish of bringing back my brother,” I mumble as tears rolled down my cheeks.

From behind, I hear a deep scary voice saying “Why are you crying?”

I turn around to find a fine-looking gentleman who was wearing a blue high-standard suit with a gold chain around his neck. “Please don’t mind me, sir,” I reply wiping my tears away.

He just turned around without saying a word and took a seat on a nearby chair. After a few minutes, I hear another voice which was a woman’s voice saying, “Where am I?”.

The gentleman answers her saying, “Where do you think you are, your house?”.

“You could have just replied politely,” the woman replies irritated. She looks at me and says, “Hi I’m Lavender Hews, and you are?”.

“Liane, Liane Roberts,” I say.

“It’s nice to meet you, Liane, at least someone in here is polite,” she responds staring at the man. He just sat quietly as if he didn’t care.

An awkward silence fills the room until two unfamiliar voices spoke.

“Ou. Ouch my he..head,” the first voice says.

“Get off me you big baboon!” the second voice says irritated.

“Gentlemen, gentlemen please try to be polite,” Lavender says.

“First get this big baboon off me!” the second voice shouts.

I’m n..not a big b..ba..baboon,” the first voice replies.

“Well I beg to differ, but you are one and you look like one”.

I couldn’t stand the noise they were making. “Quiet!,” I shout, leaving them silent for a while, “You get off him and you stop calling him a big baboon,” I say pointing at the two.

Silently they obey me.

Another unfamiliar voice says, “Oh wow, following orders from a woman huh, that’s interesting”.

“That’s rude,” I replied turning around to find a finely dressed gentlemen.

“Listen lady I don’t care about what you think, I only said the truth,” he replies arrogantly.

I just stood there silently holding my anger and hushing words from coming out.

After a few awkward minutes Lavender starts a conversation, “Can you all please introduce yourselves, I’m Lavender Hews”.

“I’m Pr..Prof..Professor Sh..Shand,” the first voice says (#big-baboon).

“Nice name big baboon, I’m Jack Spin,” the second voice says.

“Stop calling him that, you are the only baboon I can see in here,” I shout as he glares at me, “I’m Liane Roberts”.

The other two gentlemen (the arrogant one and the deep scary voiced one) just stand there without saying a word, as if they didn’t know their names.

“Your names are..?,” I ask.

The arrogant boy looks at me and says “Why should I be telling you my name?”.

“Aren’t there any polite people here except for Liane,” Lavender says, “She just asked for your name, it’s not that of a big deal, is it?”.

“Yes, yes it is a big deal, telling strangers like you my name is a big risk,” he answers with a rude tone (the arrogant guy).

My blood was boiling, “Listen, I don’t care about who you are or what you think you are, there is no difference between you and us that makes you sooo special, understand?” the words spilled out of my mouth.

“Excuse me!” he replies angrily.

“Are you some kind of god that everyone bows down before them, praising them for defeating some kind of dark power?,” I say.

“I..I no…,” he fumbles with his words.

“Exactly, now can you just tell us your name,” I tell him calming myself down.

He turns around speechlessly and whispers, “Alexander Peat”.

“Huh, I didn’t hear that,” I say trying to annoy him.

“I said I’m Alexander Peat!,” he shouts as he stormed to a divan that was at the corner of the room.

“See it wasn’t that hard right?,” I say as I turn around to the other man (the deep scary voiced one).

“Your name please,” I ask.

At first, he looks at me then turns around and says, “ Just call me Chris,”.

I answer, “Can we have your full name”.

“I’ll pass,” he answers as he lays down. I didn’t want to create an argument again so I just left him alone.

Everyone went silent for a moment when I noticed the boy who lay beside me was waking up.

“Where am l and who are you all?” he asks in a soft voice.

We introduce ourselves again to him.

“I’m Owen, Owen Rae,” he introduces himself.

I go to talk to Lavender as we were the only girls there. After about an hour or two a handsome boy comes up to where I was standing and grabbed me by my hand. I try to break free from his grip but he was too strong for me. He pulls me close and says, “So you are the new one huh”.

I didn’t know what he meant by that and didn’t care about finding out. “What do you mean by that and let go of me,” I tell him as I try to escape from him.

He lets go of me and says, “Forget what I said,” he turns to the other direction, takes two steps, turns around, glances back at me, and says,

The name’s Dave, Dave Callost”.
