It was the middle of the night when scarlet would wake up sweating, she had dream she was being chased by a beast in the forest she would run until it caught her. but after she could never remember what happened as she always woke up. but she never let it bother her, so she decided to just get up and get dressed for class.

little did she know someone was watching her from the forest behind her room. on her way downstairs she ran into her mother and father.

“Morning mum,” she said, smelling the scent of bacon and blueberry.

“Morning scarlet” her mother would tell her she gave scarlet her plate before being serious and saying “scarlet we need to talk your 18 tomorrow and there something you need to know about”

Not liking her mother’s serious tone, she stops eating and Speaks’ ′ mom I’m sure I can handle anything you throw at me so spill what’s going on” she said with her usual smile letting her mom know she would be fine with anything.

Her mom would let out a shaky breath before speaking “you're not my biological daughter and you're not human like me your what is known as an amarok it’s a larger wolf with the abilities capable of destroying the entirety of Wisbech”

She was shocked and her face showed “wait mom I’m not your daughter and I’m some creature a monster I'm mean nice try but things like that don’t exist anymore and they haven’t well in forever” she had gone into denial as it was all too much to handle but something in her knew it was true in some way which made her curious about it.

The woman she thought was her mom would continue “they have existed I was just your guardian until you would become of age to be taken away by your mate, he should be able to explain more about it since I don’t know much about it all I know is there much like soul mates”

“Soulmates you can't be serious and become of age I'm guessing thats 18 which means i'll be an adult he whoever he is should have no say in this it's my life”

suddenly there was a loud bang as if someone had broken down their front door followed by footsteps that got closer the longer, they waited to see who it was

Approaching was a man someone scarlet would describe as a Greek god he looked at scarlet immediately.

“You're coming with me know” his ice-cold voice and seemingly dead eyes struck fear in scarlet but also lit a spark in her which showed when she looked him straight in the eye

He smirked at her reaction, walking up to her and grabbing her chin but before he could speak, Scarlet’s adoptive parent stepped in.

“She’s only 17 she’s not 18 till tomorrow you can’t do this!” she tried to pull scarlet near her, but he was quicker and grabbed her wrist.

“That’s close enough for me. I’ve been waiting 4 years so get over yourself woman” his eyes glowed a blue-Ish gray.

“Scarlet spoke what do you mean you’ve been waiting on me for 4 years I’ve only just met you” she looked at him in confusion

“Oh, kitty I’ve known of your existence since you were born but i only met you when you were 15” he looked at her to see if she had questions before continuing “you ran into the forest behind your house when you and Lauren had an argument, and you couldn’t find your way back i found you and brought you back that’s also how I met Lauren”

“Oh ok” she said, obviously overwhelmed and her head going circles with all the questions she wanted to ask.

“But this will only cause problems won’t it and she has to finish school how will-” she cut herself off when seeing him glaring at her

“We need to go are you ready” he asked looking at her

“Wait what I need to pack and say goodbye to my friends and get my last paycheck? ″ She continued on until he shut her up with a simple.

“Shut up you're annoying me know, and I’ll get you other things, so packing doesn’t matter as for saying bye to your friends and getting your check don’t worry your friends are coming with us and i have enough money to last us several lifetimes”

He walked towards the place the door was and walked out getting into his car

She was shocked but complied and left not bothering to look back at the woman she thought was her mother all her life not knowing how to feel towards her.

When she got outside, she saw a jet-black hummer her dream car and her favorite color she loved it she got in and put her seatbelt on before they left.

“So where are we going” she paused not knowing his name

“gray” he said before glancing at her then focusing on the road appearing to be in deep thought

“Gray that's a unique name i like it” she said trying to lighten the mood that surrounded him as it seemed gloomy.

“Mhm” he said not really focusing on her anymore

After what seemed like days of driving but was really only a 3-hour drive, they arrived at their destination which seemed to be a castle.

“Wow its beautiful here, do you stay here” she asked full of excitement

“No, its only used by my father and mother” he said while walking towards the door

Scarlet falling behind significantly as she realized the height difference

She thought,” I wonder how tall he is maybe 6’0 since im 5’6”

He replied as if hearing her “actually I'm 6’5” he said slowing down as they had reached the door

He opens the door and walks in with her jogging almost running to keep up so she could ask him how he knew she was thinking about the height difference

He suddenly stopped making her almost run into his back.
