Chapter 1

Diya

Today's day was the most important part of my life. Me and my husband Rishi were coming from the hospital after the routine check up. You all were wondering why the routine check up and you all guessed it right i am pregnant. I am in my third trimester and last week my whole family celebrated the baby shower which is done when you are seven months pregnant.

According to the doctor my baby's growth is fine and from now on my visits to the hospital will be frequent because my doctor wants to be sure that everything is fine with me and my baby.

She was married to Rishi for only seven months when she got to know that she is pregnant. This pregnancy was unplanned but they both took the decision to continue the pregnancy. So they celebrated their one year anniversary last month when she was six months pregnant.

Rishi - Hey Diya what are you thinking.

I was so lost in thoughts I didn't hear rishi talking to me. When he nudged me I came out of stupor.

Nothing serious, it's just that I was thinking about our baby. I can't wait to meet my baby. I have made a list of what I need and have to do when our baby will come. But I am terrified too. Will I be able to take care of our baby and I don't want to make any mistakes.

Rishi - I am also waiting patiently to meet our baby. I am so thrilled but terrified too.

But don't worry we are together and will take care of our baby together.

So relax, everything will be fine and you should stay stress free. Remember what the doctor told us if you will be stressed free then the baby will be fine too.

Diya - Ok thanks and don't worry I will be fine.

They were so busy talking to themselves they didn't hear the honking of the truck coming from behind.

The reaction time from him was slow because when Rishi tried to slow the speed so that he could give side to the truck it collided with their car.

Because of the impact Rishi lost the balance and the car went to the side of the road and collided with the nearby tree and the truck driver didn't stop and went its way.

She felt time stopped and everything was slipping away. She couldn't believe what was happening. Few minutes ago they were talking about their baby and were ready to spend the rest of their lives together and now she felt her world crumpled in front of her eyes. She was trying to hold it but it was slipping from her hands.

When it happened the traffic of the vehicles stopped and people came out to see what happened.

On the opposite side of the road traffic police were standing. They looked at the scene and tried to stop the truck but the driver sped away.

Rishi immediately fell unconscious but Diya was still a little bit conscious and her hand was on her belly in the protective stance. She tried to wake him up but it was no use. He was badly injured.

While she was in and out of consciousness she saw the police making its way to them. They tried to talk to her but it was no use. She tried to speak but can't make a coherent sentence. Immediately they contacted a nearby hospital for an ambulance and were reassured it would come as soon as possible.

When it was all happening Diya saw a figure coming near them. It stopped for a minute near the police but soon again it was making its way near her.

The figure was of the man she had not seen in a while and not planning to meet him any time soon but yet it was in front of her calling her.

She finally saw him and heard him call her name Diya but she uttered his name and soon fell unconscious.
