The path to curiosity
Justin can hear the argument of his parents from his room, his five year old brother Jake is holding him tight and sobbing. Their parents are screaming like maniacs, abusing each other from the bottom of their hearts. It's not new to them but still both the brothers are not used to of it.
"How long are they gonna play this game, brother? I don't like this game at all."- said Jake.
Justin could not answer the question of his brother because he himself did not know the answer to this question and that is normal because a 8 year old boy does not have the ability to understand such a situation. Suddenly they heard something heavy falling on the floor. They just couldn't figure out what had happened? Jake hold his brother more tightly than before and asked " What was that, brother?"
"Don't know,bruh" Justin replied with a gloomy voice.
Suddenly they heard something, it was a sound of pulling a heavy thing. "Jake go behind the curtains of window."
"But brother,I am scared. I don't wanna leave you."
"Nothing is gonna happen. I am right here in this room. Just do what I say. Go, hide yourself."
Jake sighed and went behind the window curtain.And Justin slowly walked towards the door. Then he slowly opened the door a little, and tried to see what was happening outside.
At first nothing was visible for the darkness, but suddenly Justin saw a person with a serin body dragging something towards their living room. After staring for a while, he realized that the person with the siren body is none other than Justin's mother. And what she's pulling is Justin's father's bloody body.
He backed away a little in fear but made no sound. He did not understand what to do now. Suddenly Jake burst into tears.He looked up and saw Jake standing by the door. Justin realized that his brother had seen the horrible scene. He jerked his brother inside and slammed the door.At that moment, their mother came and started knocking on the door in such a way that the door would break.
Frightened, they aimed at their neighbors and shouted for help. There was no response from anyone, while their mother was desperately trying to open the door. Moments later, they noticed a police car parked under their apartment and their mother stopped knocking on the door.
A man started to talk at that moment " Justin, I am sergeant Clive. I know you are a very smart boy. I want you to listen to me properly. Son, unfortunately your father is no more and we are suspecting your mother is somehow involved with it. And you all so know that. We have taken your mother in our custody. Everything is fine right now. Will you please unlock the door and come outside. You can trust me. I will take care of you."
Justin did not utter a word and Jake kept crying.
"Justin,my boy listen to me your brother is scared.
You can not stay here with him. It is dangerous here. Trust me I will take care of you guys."- sergeant Clive said.
"Will you give us dinner too?" -asked Justin.
"Yes my child. I will."- replied sergeant Clive.
"Will we get dinner every night?" Justin asked again.At this point He replied a little emotionally, "Yes,yes my boy you will get it every day."
Sergeant Clive got the sound of walking. He smiled slightly. The door got open. Sergeant Clive looked through the gap in the door to see inside. The sight was horrible. Both the boys was wearing torn and dirty clothes. They were embarrassing each other. The whole room was full with dirt. By the condition of the boys it was clear that the boys have not eaten for days. Sergeant Clive felt pitty for the boys. He slowly went to the boys and hugged them to comfort them and whispered "Don't worry, boys . I am here for you."
