How I Got Here
I guess in a way I chose to be an omega. At least that's how I prefer to see it.
I was twenty when it happened. We, my two brothers, our sister and I, were traveling on a train with mom's third "mate", and his friends who liked to call themselves a pack. "Dad" played Alpha. Mom had managed to make friends with a rising pack, with twin children. She offered my hand in marriage to the son, swearing I would be perfect. We had to meet before it could be official.
The thing is: mom had picked up a bad habit from the humans, cigarettes, and she was out of them. She was in a bad mood. My sister was fifteen, still a skinny twig compared to me, but with a head turning human form. My sister snapped, "I don't have to put up with this, just because you can't get your fix!"
"How dare you!" Mom yelled, before grabbing her and throwing her across the boxcar. "I'll kill you!" She added as my sister hit the ground.
I was up in half a heartbeat, and between them. "You won't touch her!" I growled.
Mom snapped, "Move, or I'll beat you too."
"Try it!" I challenged. Moments later I was in my wolf form.
My youngest brother had been lying next to me when everything started, but had moved next to our sister when I jumped up. Now the two of them stayed behind me, letting me handle the crazy beast before me. One of the men opened the sliding door. My siblings almost fell out.
I turned my head for a moment, and that's when she pounced. I fell into my siblings, and the three of us tumbled off the side of a cliff, landing in water below. I managed to keep them from drowning, and got us to shore. As our wolves shook off the cold water I looked at my siblings and explained, "We have two choices, hang onto our old life and try to find our family, or accept our new role as rogues and stick together."
"What's so great about our lives that we should care about keeping it?" My sister asked.
My baby brother was seven. He held tightly to me and said, "Just don't let anyone take you away from me."
I smiled and replied, "They can't take you if you're my son."
We spent a week walking through the wilderness, working on the details we would tell anyone we came across. I refrained from bathing, so I could build up a scent, since my natural odor is practically nonexistent.
We happened across a pack with a decent Alpha. The story we had invented was believable, but when he used compulsion on my sister she caved with the truth. Thankfully he and his Beta were the only ones in the room.
When he tried using his compulsion on me: it didn't work, at least not the way he expected. I instantly became angry, and lept at him. The Beta caught me, and held me back, barely. Alpha Victor smiled and stated, "That's an interesting response."
I calmed down and told him, "I don't like having compulsion used on me. Brings back bad memories."
Alpha Victor nodded his head. "I'll make a deal with you." He offered, "You tell me the truth, and obey my orders, and I'll refrain from compulsing you."
I sighed and agreed. I must have spent hours being interrogated, but in the end we were allowed to stay in his pack, as Omegas, and only he and Beta Brian know our true story.
I'm no ordinary Omega though. My duties include being the demonstration partner for the battle trainer, and assisting in the medical unit. Both jobs are to give me a secret education, making me a secret weapon for the Alpha. Nobody pays attention to the Omegas, we're supposed to be insignificant.
The hardest part is remembering not to speak my mind, and controlling my anger when I'm being wronged. The pack is used to me not participating in the mind link that connects the entire pack, but I do have a direct connection to Alpha Victor and Beta Brian.
The name Alpha Victor chose for me is Trixy, because he says it's warning everyone how tricky I am without letting them know they've been warned. Everyone just calls my sister Sissy, and my "son" Sonny or little man, but now that he's eighteen he's demanding to be called T-man. It fits him, and the transition seemed to happen overnight.
