Hello Bianca

There were a lot of girls like her, but there weren’t any girls like her. She was a normal nearly 18 year old girl, but she wasn’t a normal nearly 18 year old girl. The difference was as clear as sun and moon, and yet, nobody noticed. She was just another girl, but not like the others, and yet, like the others.

Her name was Bianca Cynthia Lune. Despite being such a sunny young lady, her name essentially meant “white moon goddess moon”. It was a mystery to everyone, and yet, to no one. After all, a name is just a name, and the meaning behind it has little impact until it does.

In appearance, she was like the other girls, yet not like the other girls. The long brown hair was similar to the majority of the other girls who also possessed long brown hair. It was smooth and silky, sort of soft, just like all the other girls. Who would dare touch her hair, though?

Bianca’s eyes were, perhaps, the most stunning part of her. While the majority of the brown haired girls had brown eyes, she had blue eyes. Now, of course, a few other brown haired girls at her school also had blue eyes, but this was an entirely different kind of blue. If you were to look into them, you would notice that, rather than a deep blue, her eyes were a brilliant blue like the light that surrounds a full moon. Bright blue like lightning. Stunning like lightning.

She was not much of a loner, as she was usually accompanied by five friends. Of the six girls, she was always considered number one, aside from when she wasn’t considered number one. Her five friends were Ivy Kimberly, Kaitlynn Kelsey, Becka Thompkins, Josephina Linville, and Matilda Dixon. In terms of astrology, their signs were Aries, Virgo, Aquarius, Scorpio, and another Aquarius, with Bianca being a Cancer.

Today is just another normal day for Bianca. She is at school with everyone else. Along the long maze-like hallways, every classroom is full of genius kids or soon to be genius kids. Even the most average of students are destined to be geniuses here.

“Bianca, has the thought ever entered your mind that perhaps we were not meant to attend this school and go to class every single day, because, I don’t know, we don’t really belong here?” Becka asks, coming up alongside her friend Bianca.

“You inquire as to whether I have considered our being in this establishment of learning to be unimportant. In my mind, I have come to the conclusion that the answer is yes, but also, no. While I greatly long for the day when we all shall graduate and leave this establishment of learning, I also understand that it is our great and important duty to attend the classes daily and learn from them what we can while we are here. Perhaps the information will be of use one day, or perhaps not. The future is uncertain and, technically, we know nothing about it and what will actually be necessary to remember,” Bianca replies, moving her hand pointlessly as she speaks.

“You make a fair point there, Bianca. I feel as though what you have said carries a great amount of truth to it. Once we are free from this establishment of learning, as you say, we will become more of our own people. We will no longer be tied down to the standards that have been thrown upon us,” Matilda says.

“Bianca is clearly missing out on something important, I feel. Do not you all recall that Bianca is still single even at this age of nearly 18? This is a tragedy, in my opinion. My own boyfriend and I will be married soon as we have been together since the age of 13. Yet here we have Bianca who has yet to accept a boyfriend into her life,” Josephina comments.

“You may recall that I had a boyfriend last year. He was not the first, but one of many. You guys selected him specifically with me in mind, and I greatly appreciate it, but it did not work out. I am wary, now, of accepting yet another boyfriend. I have a fear within me that, perhaps, no man will be perfect for all my needs and desires,” Bianca states.

It is true that Bianca had a boyfriend last year. That, however, is a story for another time. The old boyfriend is not important, but perhaps he is. After all, all relationships of the past affect the relationships of the future, unless they don’t.

At this point in time, the school bell rings much like a crazed child smashing a cymbal with a drumstick for the fun of it. Bianca and her five friends then proceed at a faster pace down the long, maze-like hallways. Their first classroom is located towards the inner spiral of rooms. Once inside, they quickly arrange themselves at their desks which have neatly been laid out in perfect rows of five by the teacher, with a little gap of space between them as the students are known to fight over the amount of space they are given.

The first class is the first of eight classes. 12th grade Biology comes first, then thirty minutes of time known as the homework period (This is a great time to last minute any homework that is due in upcoming classes). After homework period comes lunch time, which, actually, isn’t a school subject. After lunch comes history, then physical education (though this is sometimes switched out for music, computer science, health, or an additional homework period if the teachers feel their students are really falling behind). Then there are the last two subjects of the day, 12th grade general economics and foreign language. At the beginning of the school year, students are allowed to pick which language they wish to study, though Spanish is typically the number one choice.

Bianca, being your typical not-typical typical girl, chose to continue the Spanish that she started to learn back when she was a student in the 7th grade, despite that she is now a student in the 12th grade. It was arranged before the beginning of the school year, but maybe not before the beginning of the school year, that the six friends would be allowed to participate in the same classes at the same times because otherwise their fragile, but not fragile, friendship might be put into harm’s way. It would be a great calamity if something were to happen to the friend group when they have been together since birth, except Ivy who met them a little later on, and Matilda who didn’t meet them until the first grade, but they have technically been together since birth and that is what matters. As a close knit group of friends, a pack, if you will, but not a pack because they aren’t actually animals (such as wolves. Why are we mentioning wolves?), they must always be together until they inevitably aren’t always together.

The school year is close to over, and all the teachers have been working hard at teaching the last few things the students will learn at this public institution of learning. All Bianca can think about, however, is that her birthday is coming up very soon (that is June 29th if you care to know). Today, however, is one of the last days of April, 2026. The biology teacher rambles on and on, explaining absolutely everything he knows about how chicken embryo develop inside of their egg and how it is similar, and how it differs, from the development of a human embryo inside of a human mother.

“Bianca, there will come a day when you, like every other woman, will have your own baby developing inside your womb. How does this make you feel?” Josephina asks.

“How is it that you can make such a statement, if I might ask? I haven’t even a boyfriend, much less a husband, and yet you speak of me hosting my own embryo? What if it should never occur in my life? What if I am doomed to be single for an eternity?” Bianca replied.

“Quite frankly, all women are to have children because, if even just one of us fails to bare children, the entire human population very well may collapse. What with these beastly monsters known as Werewolves skulking about and devouring us all like candy. …and we promised to find you a new, perfect, boyfriend. We will discover your fate intended soulmate and unite him with you,” Ivy said.

“My fate intended soulmate, you say, but I’m sure you had that in mind when you picked my last boyfriend, did you not? I was sure of it, and yet I’m not sure of it. I did not like that last guy and he certainly was not my fate intended soulmate. Perhaps, then, only my own soul can discover my soulmate,” Bianca stated.

“We will keep on trying, Bianca. We will not leave you to face this on your own. Your soulmate is out there and we will find him no matter how long it takes. Our friendship bond will never break, it shall only grow stronger as the days go on,” Matilda says.
