Chapter 1

Jennifer and Alexandrina Adams were twin sisters, and they were as close as anything. They did everything together. They even looked like each other. Jen was older, by three minutes. She was also half an inch taller, and her hair were dark brown, while Lex's were bright blonde. She had brown eyes, while Lex had amber eyes. They both looked the same. They were both very pretty, tall and outgoing. They were thirteen, and quite tall for it. Jen was a bit shyer than Lex, but they were both very voluble. They never ran out of words. Everyone liked them, and referred to them as 'the good-natured twins'. It was a compliment of course, but the innocent Jen thought that everyone was making fun of them. Lex couldn't stop her laughter after Jen told her about what she thought. Now, these two lived in a small house in Reading, with their mother. Their father had died when they were four. But their mother was an engineer and she was doing well in business.

They lived in a two-bedroom house, with just one bathroom, a living room and a dining room and kitchen combined. Jen and Lex shared a tiny little room, with not much space, but enough to keep a small closet, a bunk bed, and two desks for studying and reading and a rack for keeping their shoes and schoolbags, bad a shelf on the wall opposing their bunk bed, to keep all their books, especiallly Lex's, as she was a bookworm. Mrs. Adams's room was a little bigger. It had a double bed, a small cupboard for her supplies, a big closet, a shoe rack, a few shelves and a bunch more things. But it wasn't much bigger than the twins' room. Even though it was just a one story house, and a very small one indeed, it was still very comfortable and to live a good life in a good house, that is the only requirement. But all that was about to change.
