Prologue

The wind rustled the leaves all around sending a shiver down my spine. The moon would be full tomorrow so it was casting plenty of light on the planes of Ron’s face as he looked at me. “Are you sure you have to go?” I whined into Ron’s chest as we lay under the stars, sweaty and satisfied. There’s nothing between us not even clothes. Tomorrow is our four year anniversary and he has to leave for training.

He sighed solemnly, “I promise I’ll only be gone a week.” He tightened his arms around my petite body. I breathed in his evergreen musk and allowed my muscles to relax even further. Ron is beta of our pack, Luna Roja. He has to go lead the final training before classes start back up.

“A week feels like an entire year when I’m away from you.” I mumbled into his skin, cherishing the warmth and comfort of the embrace. “The summers when you train always felt like an eternity.”

“You taste the sweetest when I haven’t had you in a while. You never fail to have me running home with a happy tail.” He claimed with a cheeky grin. "I'll make it up to you big time when I get back baby."

“Is that right?” I giggled noticing the mischievous glint in his amber eyes. He responded by capturing my lips with his. He ran his hands down my sides before grabbing my bottom causing a gasp to cross my lips. He used his new found grip to pull me on top of him. “I hope you’re ready for round three.” I smirked as I lowered myself onto him.
