"I really enjoyed reading this story! It's a short story and can be read waiting at your next appointment, but don't be fooled! Think of this like concentrated juice or something. Looks like a little bit until you add the water. That's this story. Looks like a little bit, but the depth of each chapter is impressive. This town, Blandstown, has a whole host of secrets that could have a story written per household. We get one of those stories. Izzy is a wife whose husband disappeared 6 months ago. She is who tells this story aside from another POV flashback. Her emotions are beautifully described and easily felt. In the end, I'm actually happy for her. As the author stated in the beginning, you will have questions and you will crave answers - oh and I do!! But I guess this way we can fill in the blanks the way our individual imagination sees fit. Great read. Thank you for sharing!"
Descriptive and tense
"This book is so descriptive! It reminds me of the Raven Cycle series by Maggie Steifvater, where every inch of those books were coated with heartfelt and mind-expanding descriptions. I was hoping for some more conversations between Izzy and the people in her community — mystery stories are so interesting to me, how even the smallest clues can be revealed through interactions of characters we might not think are so important at first, but they can add to the mystery/the chase — but that's only the initial chaps. so maybe there's more unfolding down the road — great story so far!"

"The story plot was intriguing from the first chapter. It had me gripped from the very start - wondering where it was taking me. Once i began, I just couldn't put this story down. The miss direction with both Robert and then Sarah was excellent; I was left guessing as to the outcome until the last. Excellent writing, it really drew me in to the story line, with many twists and turns. A real page-turner, I would recommend this book to everyone! "

"This story... Gah! This story! It has me twisted all over the place trying to figure out where it's taking me! I LOVE IT! I'm writing this review waiting (somewhat impatiently, I might add) for chapter ten to be released. I don't usually review stories this early, but this one left me no choice - I had to review it so everyone else can see how good this story is. The plot is intriguing to say the very least. As soon as a question gets answered, ten more questions are raised that have me scratching my head in utter, wonderful confusion. I think I have it all worked out, and then the very next chapter, the rug is pulled out from under me and I need to re-evaluate EVERYTHING I just read. Everything about this story has sucked me in. I love it and can't recommend it any higher. You won't regret reading this, I promise!"

"I generally don't write reviews until I've finished a book, but I have to make an exception for the newest L Hope endeavor. Books laden with questions, action, and little mystery are L Hope's forte and I cannot wait to see how this one plays out. 5 stars for writing because I know how hard she works, how much she cares about producing a quality book. 5 stars for plot because these first few chapters have clearly laid the foundations for a convoluted, twisty-plotted thriller that will keep me flipping pages as fast as I can. Buckle up, I feel a wild ride on the horizon, and I couldn't be more excited to see where this goes!"
