episode 1: the beginning
It was a cool day. Kids were going on field trips and crabs were playing beach ball on the beach. a lot of people were having a good time. but on rat island these times were rare. The animals here don’t have any problem with their life routines even if they do it for their entire lives. it was just safer that way. until one fox stood away from the crowd and was hungry for adventures. That fox was windsor. He always saw interesting places and events in magazines but he lives in a community that doesn’t like changing what they grew up in. windsor was bored of the same places and activities and wanted to actually see more of what his world could offer
windsor backed up his stuff with a blanket and tyed it on a stick and told his parents that he’ll be going out to explore the world. and promised to get them something nice from a land far away from this boring island. which His parents at first were against that idea but allowed windsor to go anyway. though they didn’t expect him to be gone for long
He got a ticket to a ship that was gonna take him to a land he heard stories about and wanted to check out. The land was called Rock town and he heard that it’s actually a big city full of sound. tasty food. more cars and vehicles than in rat island. and according to his map it was actually connected to a lot more other places he could visit so it was the perfect starting point. while windsor was on his way to the ship. his parents kept calling him way to check on him and to tell him that’s not late to come back home
windsor’s mom on the phone: honey. Come on, you have to think deeply about this. come back already. lunch is getting cold. we are waiting for you
windsor: mom i told you. I already made up my mind. I won’t be eating with you guys. i wanna go out to finally see what’s beyond this island
windsor’s mom: ok then. I guess you have to say goodbye to your comfortable bed then. and all of this tasty food here. you’ll surely miss it wouldn’t you ?
windsor: oh please. you gave me enough money to stay at hotels and eat from restaurants. i’m going to be comfortable
windsor’s mom: oh really ?. well you know nothing about the outside world. These hotels are all just a scam. They are barely even suitable for visitors. They are very dirty and full of dust and bugs. Plus cleaning after visitors is expensive so they’d probably just let their fur and hair stay on the beds and couch. so you’ll be sleeping another person’s fur. and that’s without even talking about restaurants. Oh, I won’t talk about restaurants. it’s way too gross
windsor: mom. I know what you are trying to do. don’t worry, I already did my research. I know everything about the places I’m going to. it’s way too late to make me go back
windsor’s mom: how do you even know that the money is enough to make you comfortable ?. you might find yourself in a very expensive place and you might not even find a place to stay or eat
windsor: Well, I’ll try to always go the easy and cheap ways. ok i’m getting really tired from this conversation. don’t worry mom. i’ll call you again when i arrive to the ship
Windsor hangs up on the phone and turns it off so his mom wouldn’t call him again. He already expected his parents to try and stop him. but he was stubborn enough to not act as they want and instead continue on exploring the world. as he was on his way to the ship. He entered a neighborhood closer to the beach. That neighborhood had birds living in it. Those birds recognize windsor. He spent all of his life at the small island so normally a lot of animals would know him. Some birds were saying hello to him and were asking him where he was going. when they knew he was leaving they said they were going to miss him. out of generosity a lot of birds started giving barriers to ratchet so he wouldn’t run out of food. windsor thanked them for their generosity but he wasn’t able to pack that much barriers with him because his pockets we aren’t big enough
Other than the birds there were other animals on the way that windsor was friends with and some of them were sad to see him go and leave the island. Rat island wasn’t big so most of the community knew each other.and since not that many people leave the island windsor leaving quickly became a popular topic at the time. a lot of them wished windsor good luck on his journey to see the world
Windsor was happy to see that many people actually cared about him leaving. He was going to miss the people’s generosity and the feeling of living in a community that feels like family. but windsor thought that he should be the adventurer for the island and come back to share all the stories about the places he visits. maybe the people on the outside could even more generous and welcoming than the people in rat island
Windsor arrives at the beach. Which is the main place where most of the entertainment activities in rat island take place. They are fun events but when you see the same exact shows throughout your entire life you would eventually get bored of them. especially if you know that you can see more and different stuff in the world. windsor was walking on the wooden path that leads to the ships. Most of the ships that come and leave from rat island were container ships but there were some ships for taking passengers but these passengers were mostly either investors or workers. and most of them weren’t from the island so even the helmsman was surprised to see someone leave the island. He told windsor that he came in early and that he should wait for an investor that was leaving the island as well. windsor sat down on one of the seats on the boat. he made himself comfortable then he remembered that he told his mom that he’ll call her when he arrives at the boat
he pulls out his phone and calls her
his dad picks up the phone and starts speaking: where were you all that time ?
windsor: ammm. dad ?. well. I was on my way to the boat. but i finally arrived and going soon to rock town
windsor’s dad: why did you lock up your phone then ? me and your mom have been worried about you
windsor: what ? but you guys called me everytime i took a step away from home
windsor’s dad: yes that’s because we are worried about you. now come back home. This isn’t funny. you’ll get hurt
windsor: dad. it’s ok i’ll be safe. i’m going to crowded places anyway so they’ll be people everywhere. if anything it’s safer than the island
windsor’s dad: nonsense. y’know. My dad used to actually work in that town and he’d always tell me about how bad and greedy city people were. trust me. you wouldn’t have a good time back there. come back home and i swear i’ll make you the apple pie you love
windsor: dad. did mom tell you to trick just like she does ?. Grandpa spent his entire life in fox village. I doubt he even knows what the beach looks like. let alone rock town
windsor’s dad: “sigh” ok then. if you are so attached to this idea, I guess i cannot stop you. especially now.
windsor: yeah. Thanks for giving me a lot of money and all of this stuff with me. you guys shouldn’t worry about me. i’m just going to explore this beautiful world that is hiding from me
windsor’s dad: well. I hope you have fun out there. i’ll still have my worries but i guess if it annoys you i’ll try to convince your mom to not call you every 5 minutes
windsor: you’ll do that for me ?. Thanks dad… this means a lot. I’ll talk to you guys every night or if any updates happen. take care
windsor’s dad: have fun son
the conversation ends like that and windsor would feel a bit hungry. so he starts getting the barries that the birds gave him and ate them
[2 HOURS LATER]
The investor took a really long time to arrive. The helmsman was feeling sorry for windsor. especially since he arrived to the boat with a really big smile of excitement on his face but is now looking a bit tired from waiting
windsor was really tired and bored from the waiting but he then heard someone calling his name from behind
WINDSOR WINDSOR
windsor was tired but he got up from his seat to see what was going on. He saw a lot of people he knew. his family. his friends. His neighbors or even people who were just in the community and didn’t have any big relationship with him were there. Some of them were holding a long sign with his name on it. they had big speakers that were playing his favorite song on it. and they put a table that had apple pies on it. his favorite kind of pie. they were celebrating the fact that one of them is finally gonna go explore the outside world.
windsor was just any normal tourist but seeing that big celebration set just as a goodbye for him. It made him feel special. He even looked at the kids that were close to the boat and asked him to share the stories about the outside world as soon as he comes back. It was one of the best things that happened to him in his entire life and gave him back his energy to explore.
while that celebration was being played. The investor finally arrived at the boat. As soon as Windsor saw him entering the boat. he knew his time on the island he spent his whole life in was coming to an end. He says goodbye to his lovely community and goes back to the boat. with a big smile on his face. He notices that his stuff are suddenly on the floor. and realizes that the investor has taken his seat
he doesn’t think much of it but he hated how rude that investor was. not only he took his seat. but also thrown his stuff on the floor. he picks his stuff up and just sits on another seat
the boat starts moving and the people at the celebration were chanting goodbyes at windsor. which made him even more happy and excited to go to rock town
it is now midnight and ratchet and the investor were already asleep. but windsor then wakes up at the sound of loud music playing far away. He wakes up annoyed at the sound. but what he sees. made him forget about the music. He saw really tall buildings. color everywhere. planes and lights
It was like nothing he saw before. It was rock town. just like how he imagined it, he couldn’t wait to leave the boat and go explore this amazing city. It looked like this was his first adventure. it was the beginning of this special traveler’s journey
