Chapter one
“So, I was thinking, our dress could represent the rainbow. In support of Deva’s coming out!” the squeal the human girl made hurt the ears of the two wolves. They flinched before looking at each other.
“We really don’t need to do that…” Deva started shaking her head. Deva had never been much of a girlie girl, that much was obvious but Taylor there only human friend refused to let it go. The girls met at primary school; Taylor was bullied for her disability. At the beginning Deva and Natalia hated each other until they helped each other with Taylor. The girls had been inseparable since.
“No come on please!” Taylor begged making Deva chuckle.
“Fine, you know I can’t say no to you.” Taylor cheered with excitement; Deva stood up grabbing the handles at the back of Taylors wheelchair with a smile as the two chit chat about different things.
Nat her melody like voice slipped into young Natalia’s head causing her to stop dead in her tracks.
“Nat?” Taylor asked as Deva span her round to face the she-wolf.
“U-Urm girls, I am just going to head to the bathroom.” Deva looked at her knowingly, before she got a reply from either of the girls she slipped into he bakery and into the bathroom. She smiled a the elderly lady applying red lipstick as she slipped into a stall.
Kelly? She pushed the thought back.
Thank god, I don’t have a lot of time so listen okey? Stay away from the house, I need you to go to an abandoned house on the 44st medow view. Under the last bedrooms floor board there is something for you I need you to get it, look and read everything and do as it says.
Kell what is go-
I’m sorry Natalia, remember. I love you with all my heart. Be safe. Trust no one.
Suddenly her connection was blocked. She felt her aunt slip away from her completely, scared and confused she pulled herself up and out the stall making sure to wash her hands. Once she was outside she looked at her two friends.
“Natalia? You okey? Your so pale.” Taylor said.
“Nat.” Deva's rough voice dripped wit authority. She was the alpha of the falcon pack, with a light growl she looked at her friends.
“Something wrong with my aunt… I have to go.” She ran as fast as her legs would carry her; she didn’t care hat humans could see a girl running inhumanly fast she just needed her aunt. When she got the house, it was almost demolished, she stood staring for what felt like years has her phone music time when off.
She answered it without looking at the caller, “Natalia… what’s going on.” Deva’s voice rang through, she could hear Taylor asking questions in the background. The usual calm kept together she-wolf let go of a heart-breaking sob and fell to her knees. She smelt the blood before she had even looked at the words.
All alone now
It was written in her blood; she would know the scent anywhere. She was a clumsy human, everything pointed to her aunt being dead. The smell of death wafted through the air as Natalia screamed clutching her chest. She was the only family she had known the only one she had left.
She heard a gasp and a hand on her back making her stirring wolf on edge till the scents of her two best friends wrapped around her. Sobs continued to wrap her body and neighbour gathered outside her aunts home, she heard Taylor on the phone to the police while she remained a puddle on the floor.
“It will be okey.” Deva attempted to comfort her. The police jumped into action immediately, the Lycan police joined in to confirm anything about her aunts death. One of the wolves jogged up to deva and whispered in her ear, usually Natalia would have had no issue listening to it but with ermine as it was she couldn’t she didn’t know to know the state of her body.
Deva knelt beside her and moved her lips to Natalia’s ear. “It isn’t her.” She whispered.
“W-what?” Natalia sat up and looked at her friend with a tear-stained face, Deva wiped her tears away. “it isn’t her in there, don’t worry… we will find her.” Her alpha friend nodded before giving out order to the other Lycans, Helping her up she placed Natalia’s hand on Taylor wheelchair for balance and walked them both back to the car.
The girls had kept here were-wolf as deva called them abilities secret from the young impressionable human not because they didn’t trust her but they didn’t want to turn her into one which they know is what would happen. Taylor lost her ability to walk at the age of 7 when they were in school it was after that the girls because close.
It was an animal attack that had got her, one that Deva’s farther felt responsible for. “My aunt told me to go to the abandoned house on meadow view, can you take me?” the thought suddenly popping into her head. Deva nodded and turned the car to the new destination; it only took them a couple of minutes to get o the house.
“Wait here.” She mumbled to the girls hopping out of Deva truck, she walked up to the abandoned, it was eery and rotting, the place boarded up with broken glass and graffiti everywhere. When they were younger, they used to be terrified of this house now? It was nothing but a hollowed shell much like her own home now. Under the last bedrooms floorboard
Her aunts words echoed to her, she headed up the stairs missing out he missing ones and walked the floor carefully to the last bedroom. It wouldn’t matter if she fell through the board but he knew the girls outside would here and Taylor would freak out. As to not worry the fragile human Natalia was careful reaching the bed room.
She tapped the floor board his she found the loos one and left it up looking how and a large bag pack full of things and a carved wooden box holding her name. Natalia Mordovia.
