Behind the Barrier
"I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story, even though sci-fi is not my genre. It made me anxious about what was behind that glass; I liked the line of smoke and mirrors and the reference to God forgetting this part of the universe. Sometimes the similes were hard to follow at different times. Other than that, I look forward to your next chapter, Behind the Barrier, as the title suggests. LF6"
Quite an intriguing set-up
"The set up to the story was good, especially for a short tale. The pay-off at the end felt less than it should be - I would have liked a little more revelation about what lay beyond the barrier. I know the idea of these kinds of tales is to let you form your own opinion so I can't be too harsh in my criticism. Overall a snappily delivered piece of interesting prose. Well done."
Abrupt end, could have been accomplished differently
"A very short piece. Adopted the right kind of writing style and pacing for this story. The ending didn't feel as hard hitting as it should have been. I understand you didn't want to explain everything outright, and even leave things to our interpretation, but ending it with that particular dialogue makes me wonder what will happen next: how are the characters going to react and deal with the situation. The situation clearly didn't end, in fact it had just started. It felt like the story was just beginning to crescendo to a climax."
