Chapter 1
Life for both me and my mom Alice has been stressful and extremely difficult over the last two years! Ever since we lost our father to suicide four years ago! My loving and passionate father! You never know how hard suicide is until it hits close to your heart and destroys you completely! We both love and miss him terribly! It has never been the same since he left us and the everyday struggle to pay the house mortgage and all the bills! It just keeps adding up!
I just wished the best for my mother! She lost the most precious and closest thing to her heart! My father would do everything for my mother Alice and I mean everything. My mother was everything to him! His death tore my mother's heart right out absolutely devasting and destroying her and me!
It was pretty early in the morning and I was getting ready for my first day as a high school student! I wasn't too nervous! In fact, I have a few friends from Junior high that are coming to this school!
In fact, Sophia, Charlotte, Josh, and I were really excited about our first day in high school! My friends meant everything to me! They have stuck by me since day one and have been my one shoulder to cry on since my father left! A girl could not ask for more loving and supportive friends. They were always surrounding me with love.
I was looking in the mirror and applying eyeshadow to my brown long lashes! I have eyes that can kill! My friends tell me. Hazel eyes for that matter!
While putting my long brown hair into a ponytail I suddenly decided to wear my brand new 24-karat gold loop earrings I just got as a birthday gift from my mother Alice a few days ago!
It was a small birthday as we did not have a lot!

A small fire and sharing time with my mother Alice and a couple of cokes outside until the stars sparkled and glowed with happiness in the night sky!
It was a beautiful and enjoyable time with my mother and a very memorable one! You don't have to have a lot to be grateful for what you have! The best moments in life are spent penniless and simple!
This was actually one of the best birthdays I have had with my mother since dad left us! We both talked the night away and talked about father and what we would be all doing together if he was here! We both enjoyed our night!
I was just getting my bomber jacket with the letter J for my name on it! When mom called from downstairs!
Josephine come down here and look at this!
When I got downstairs mom had a huge smile on her face!
I am like ok mom what is putting such a huge smile on your face? That's when mom takes the hand that she was hiding from behind her back out and shows me the paper! I took a look at it and it said, Canmore Alberta.
What is this mother? Josephine says!
This is a letter from a lawyer in Canmore that reads that my distant Great uncle George Walter Robbinson heard what happened years ago with your father and he put in his will that when he passes away! That he wants to leave the land to both you and me!
He just recently passed on. He has also left us twenty-five thousand dollars. He lived on acreage right outside Canmore. This letter states all of this. Alice replies!
All I could do was look up at my mother! Not believing a word my mother was telling me! I do not know what to say, mother!
I have friends here in Edmonton that I love so much and I do not know if I can just move away and leave my friends behind!
My Josephine! Baby, you know how much you mean to your mother! Really think about all of this! This can change our lives and situation for the better! Now don't be thinking you will have to give up their friendship! You have your Tik Tok and Messenger accounts! So you can still keep in touch with Charlotte and Sophia and Josh and there is always the opportunity to make so many new friends!
You can always throw sleepover parties. You can invite them this summer and maybe even camp out at the Big Valley Jamboree and then they can even stay at the acreage for a few days! For God's Sake Josephine! We only live fifty minutes away and the acreage is on the Edmonton side of Camrose!
So they can come to see you anytime they want. Josh even knows how to drive! When he gets old enough to drive by himself those three are going to be practically living here!
My mom gives a big sigh!
You know I love you so much Josephine and I only want the best life I can give you! I will give you a couple of days to think about all of this! I just think this is a great opportunity for both of us!
I know you love me, mother! I guess I will think all this through! Just big changes are so frightening mother! I think I will talk this over with my friends today at school and get their opinion!
Alice gives Josephine a kiss on the cheek as she sees a tear rolling down Josephine's face. I love you too Josephine!
While seeing tears in my mother's blue eyes. I compliment her that she looks wonderful as I look at her very short blond hair and the knee-length black skirt and white blouse she is wearing!

one cold dark night have not yet read. but introduction is just right. however intro in this is to long. please make sure to proof read. carat is one mistake. I will make sure to read the other book to reference you writing.
it's only a minor thing. one major mistake few writers do is rush their typing and forget to use space bar which can be of putting for example. wondering down the street ifelt awful aftereaating too much. can you notice the 2 mistakes. I suppose you may have noticed when you text friends or family there are some mistakes. One writer the writing was so bad using speed text. eg. babe girl u now is luv you. And forgetting to use capital letters. The writer must have been used to text talking and forgotten how to use basic grammar. we all make mistakes but we learn by them.
