Chapter 1
Jessica Carter is my name and I am a huge writer in California, I live in a big house with my four pets my dogs Timmy and spot and my two cats tete and jumpy. When I was three years old our apartment caught on fire and my mom and dad die there but the last thing she said to me was “we will always love you and your sister” and she put her heart necklace my father gave her around my neck. I will never forget how she saved our life just to give up her life so soon, if she haven’t given up her life for me, I wouldn’t be in the house I’m living in today.
I grabbed my coat and me and my dogs took a walk in the park, when I smelled this familiar smell, it was a type of perfume my dad use to wear, when him and my mom use to go out.
I turned around and saw a sexy handsome looking guy standing there looking at me smiling. He started to walk towards me with that same bright smile making me nervous introducing himself to me, “hey, My name is joey, what's your name", I gazed at how sexy he was and just analyzed his figure to his jawline, lips, eyes to his biceps that had a skull resembling the day of the dead skulls, I was knocked out of my gazed when he waved his hand at me,
“Um yes"
“you ok, you were starring pretty hard"
“yeah I’m ok, I’m great"
“I still don’t know your name”, he said licking his lips
“Oh, umm my name is Jess-ica”
“So what brings you to the park Jess-ica” He asked me rubbing his hand through his hair saying my name the way I said it
“Just walking around getting some fresh air, I live up there in that blue mansion on the hills, where you live”. He told me that he lived in a white and black house down the street and he was getting away from his parents, when he asked me a question that caught me off guard but made me kinda excited. “Would you like to go out with me?” he said, I didn’t know what to say, so I nodded my head and said “I would love to”
“Great, pick you up at six o'clock.”, i was surprised he didn't ask what I do to afford such a big house, usual they always ask.
Running back home with my pets behind me, I didn't really run cause I was in slippers but I called my sister and told her all about it while running to my closet started to pick something out to wear and that’s when I saw a dress that my sister gave me it was beautiful and i never worn it, it was a silver dress with diamonds going around the wasit. I jumped in the shower, when I heard a knock on the door, i didnt know who it could br till i looked at my phone and it was six o’clock already. I quickly got out, throwing on my towel running to the door but it wasn’t who I thought it was, it was my sister.
“I thought you were in Florida” I asked her, "no I lied to you, I’m in Cali I live about 3 miles away, I had to ride my bike here for I wouldn’t miss this big event, now let's get you ready and why you ran to the door naked, you weird, now let’s go"
she pushed me into my room and sat me in front of my makeup area, it took about 2 hours but when she was done, I looked great, different then usual, she did my makeup better then I do it myself, not that I didn't know how to do makeup it just looked better when she did it. It was 10 o’clock and joey was still not here and by the time it was midnight I know it was all a lie, I run to my bedroom taking everything off crying, my sister run behind me and told me stop cry, my sister always had my back but I didn’t care what she was saying at the moment, everything was a blur. When i was done crying we sat on the couch eating popcorn and Cinnamon stick watching big miracle and listening to music. I fall to sleep during our little party session knowing she would probably be gone when i wake up but it was good seeing her since it been 5 years. I woke up to not see my sister next to me but found her phone and purse was setting next to me, the only thing that was gone was my car keys, so i walked in the kitchen and found a note saying “I’m going to go take care of this joey problem and I just sighed praying she don’t do nothing crazy or stupid.
I didn’t really care so I made a bowl of cereal and went to go set on the couch and turn on the t.v and saw the most craziest thing, I turned up the volume and I could hear the news anchor more clearly "last night a man by the name joey, here's a picture on the left, car was on set on fire and he was attacked and beaten and left there". I wanted to laugh but I knew my sister was going to get in trouble for this but he survived. My sister came running thru the front door saying “ I need money, I need money “ and then I heard police sirens and helicopters. “What did you do?”, I asked her, even though I knew what she did, I just wanted to hear her say it. All I knew was that the police burst through my doors and tackle me and my sister, my dogs started barking loudly and my cats just ran away. We were sent to the police station for questioning, they started asking me questions like do you have license, where were you when this all happen and do you know joey.
I told them everything i knew, my sister told them everything she knew too but she didn’t tell on herself, when joey told everything my sister was sentenced to 1 years in jail since he didn’t press charges, i was let go so I paid joey a little visit, to talk to him and his parents. I went to knock on the door when i saw a man running out of the house across the streets and another man chasing after him with a gun, then all i heard was six gunshots, the man saw me and started to shouting at me, telling me to take my ass in the house and mind my damn business and that’s when joey’s mother opened the door and i fell to the ground dropping the chocolate, flowers and fruit tray, she told me to hurry up and come in and have a seat.
“Thank god the fruit and chocolate
Was alright”, she said picking up the stuff off the floor
“don’t worry about them across the street they always fighting and shooting at each other"
“Who are they"
“just a man wife having an affair with the plumber but she has an affair with every man that comes in that house even her husband brother, she tried to get my Leonie but hell to the no", she said bringing in some tea and cookies, I knew this was going to be a Rollercoaster ride.
