Prologue

"So, what was your biggest conflict?" Eliana asked, keeping the champagne. She crossed her legs over one another and looked at him. A smile took over his face and he looked up at her.

"I killed a man," he said it nonchalantly, with a little shrug.

Her eyes widened. "Why?"

He tilted his head upwards a little, his longest finger tracing his chin. "Why? Well, a woman came waltzing in and assaulted me with her lips."

"She kissed you?"

He nodded and took a sip of the champagne. He could see Eliana's slight tipsiness and it only endeared her to him.

"And then what happened?" Eliana asked, her voice low and almost seductive.

"Well, her husband came in right in the middle of that session."

Eliana gasped. "No."

He nodded. "Yes."

"So you killed him? Did you covet the woman?"

He gave a small laugh and leaned forward, drawing circles on the wine cup. "Not quite. But a man who does not understand that a woman who kisses a man first should have her kiss returned, does not deserve to live."

Eliana's eyes widened at the explanation. Just when she thought she'd seen it all with Julian, he dusted off a layer to himself that she found even more intriguing.

Slowly, she stood, and with her bare foot moved the table separating them. She then slowly lowered herself to his lap, her hand landing on his hair so a few fingers could caress the nape of his neck, while she slowly traced the outlines of his lips with her finger .

"Are you saying..." She started, her voice husky as her eyes fixed on his lips. She leaned forward so her lips could almost brush his. "That if I kiss you first, I can have my kiss returned?"

He gave a smug laugh as his grip on her waist tightened.

"You, little vixen, are just like me."
