Although Nino did everything his father asked of him, he was no longer the happy and emotional boy he once was. He did not want to experience the pain of losing his mother, and her loss affected him to the point of breaking point.
As a result, the sweet boy shut down, forced away all of his emotions, and vowed that he would never place himself in a position of weakness or vulnerability again.
