I'm... A King?

“Danger! Protect His Majesty!”

Right by his ear, Fey suddenly heard someone screaming frantically as if they were a hen that had lost its eggs.

Being disturbed by the loud screaming, he forcefully opened his sleepy eyes.

After opening his eyes, he saw that there was a gleaming wolf-tooth arrow hurtling towards him through the air, bringing with it the sharp sound of air ripping apart.

“Fuck, what’s going on? Which bastard shot at me?”

Fey instantly sobered up while all the hair on his body stood on end from surprise.

Unfortunately, the arrow had already struck him before he could get a clear understanding of what in the world was happening.

Bam!

The muffled sound of the wolf-tooth arrow hitting his helmet rang out.

Immediately, Fey felt the world begin to spin while ringing sounds filled his ears and countless little golden stars circled before his eyes. The huge impact from the arrow had sent him flying backward.

“Ah... Fuck!”

While crying out in pain, the only thing he had his mind on was how unsightly he looked as he was sent flying through the air.

“Oh God of War!? His Majesty the King was shot! Help!”

“Where’s the mage? Hurry and get the mage to come here and treat His Majesty...”

“Watch out! Those bastards below are beginning to siege the city...”

“Attention!! Archers ready... Fire!”

While commands were being screamed out and chaotic footsteps surrounded him, Fey, who was still mid-air, was confused. His Majesty? Mage? Archers? Siege? Where is this? Is a movie being filmed? What the fuck is this show?

After 0.01 seconds, he finally landed——

His butt was the first to make contact with the hard ground. Then soon after, his head, which wore a helmet, smashed into a hard stone pillar.

Right after that, the number of little golden stars dancing before his eyes increased. As the mess of voices around him grew louder and louder, he lay on the ground and slowly blacked out.

……

After some time, Fey woke up once again.

As he woke up, Fey felt as if he were lying on a soft cloud, but his aching and numb body told him that he wouldn’t be able to move for a while. His head felt heavy as if he had been fiercely clobbered by several dozen sticks, and he found himself having some trouble opening his eyes. At this time, all he could understand were two female voices whispering nearby.

“Sister Angela, you’re so silly... Why do you care so much about his well-being? If he dies, you can easily take everything in Chambord... Hehe, and that way, you wouldn’t even need to marry this renowned idiot.”

From the clear and melodious voice, he guessed that the one who was speaking was a young girl who was about 14 or 15 years of age.

“Watch your words!”

Another soft female voice interrupted the former’s words with a hint of anger in her voice. After going silent for a while, she seemed to adjust herself and said softly, “Gemma, my silly little sister, do you know what nonsense you are spouting? Don’t let me hear you speak such nonsense in the future... Come what will, Alexander is my fiance!”

“Alexander? Who is that?” Fey thought.

Hearing this, a huge question mark appeared in Fey’s mind, still confused about what in the world was going on.

At this time, a faint fragrance suddenly wafted to his nose. The aroma was clear and light, giving one a beautiful picture. It was the natural scent of a woman.

As an experienced beauty connoisseur in the 21st century, Fey was instantly able to make this judgment, and he was very confident in his ability in this regard.

Fey half-opened his eyes with difficulty. When he finally managed to do so, he was surprised by what he saw.

The view was simply stunning. He found himself inside a luxurious medieval European palace that had magnificent decor, glamorous furniture, and the faint fragrance of sandalwood in the air. It was as if he was in a dream.

He was stunned. He then slowly turned his head and observed his surroundings.

As he did so, two graceful figures eventually entered his sight.

Standing a little further away was a young girl dressed in a maid uniform, her pale blond hair was styled into a simple ponytail. She was currently pouting, expressing apparent displeasure.

“This young girl was probably the one who had hoped that the person called Alexander would just hurry up and die just now.” Fey couldn’t help but glance at her and think, “Although this girl is young, her mouth is poisonous, and she has quite an evil heart!”

He shifted his gaze closer to himself and found that he was lying on a gilded crimson king-sized bed. His head was resting on a soft velvet cushion while a beautiful young lady wearing a loose high-waist purple noblewoman’s dress was sitting on the side of the bed with worry written all over her face.

Her silky black hair was akin to a dark cloud and was tied together by a purple string. Her skin was as white as snow and looked as smooth as silk. The purple dress accentuated her curves, making it so that those who saw her would faint from her beauty.

The beautiful lady slightly leaned over.

Fey squinted his eyes, habitually peeking through the meticulously-made purple lace collar of the dress, easily catching sight of two striking snow white and captivating arcs.

Seeing this, Fey didn’t dare to look any longer.

He quietly took a deep breath, then took another breath.

A burning sensation assaulted his nasal cavity, and he knew that, if he were to sneak another glance, blood would start flowing out of his nose.

“I’ve sinned... Sinned!”

Fey had to force himself to turn his attention to other things, such as “Who is this woman?“, “Why am I here?“, “Where is this place?” and so on.

“Cough cough cough!” Fey intentionally coughed a few times.

“Hm? You’re awake?”

The beautiful black-haired lady, Angela, heard his coughs and leaned over. Her expression quickly became one of pleasant surprise. “Alexander, how are you feeling? Does the wound still hurt? Dr. Evan said that you needed a lot of rest...”

“I... What’s going on?” Fey said with a dry and hoarse voice.

As soon as he uttered those words, he couldn’t help but be surprised. Because he suddenly discovered something he found unbelievable—

The beautiful lady before him was speaking in an ancient and strange language, and even with him being a university student that specialized in languages, he couldn’t recognize this strange language in the slightest. But what was really unbelievable to him was that, despite not recognizing nor even ever hearing of this language, he could surprisingly speak it just like how the lady could.

“Alexander, did you forget? When you were leading the soldiers to protect the kingdom, you got shot with an arrow by a sneaky enemy... Though thank the God of War, you were wearing a helmet at the time, so you only received a minor wound...”

While Angela was speaking, she placed her soft and seemingly boneless little hand on his forehead and discovered that it was slightly cold, causing surprise to flash through her eyes. “Great! Your body temperature is back to normal... Dr. Evan said that as long as you don’t have a fever, you’ll be able to recover soon... Alexander, you are truly a brave king!”

“Me? Alexander? King?” Fey was stunned for a while.

Angela said with a smile on her face, “Our young and brave king of Chambord, it was precisely because of your timely appearance on the fortress walls that we were able to win... With your appearance, our brave soldiers were ultimately able to fend off another wave of invaders!”

Fey felt strange. For some reason, he kept on getting the feeling that the beautiful lady in front of him spoke in a tone that was similar to how a kindergarten teacher would coax a crying kid.

“He’s not some brave king...”

On the other hand, the blond girl called Gemma rolled her eyes and finally found an opportunity to interject. With mockery and disdain apparent on her face, she said, “If Lord Bazel had not repeatedly requested him to do so, would Alexander have taken the initiative to go up onto the fortress walls? I even remember that when he was putting on his armor, he was so scared that he almost peed his pants... As for boosting morale, if seeing the king act like a fool and get shot by an enemy the first second he got up onto the fortress walls counts as boosting morale, then he did so magnificently!”

The little girl spoke harshly, and Fey could even faintly catch a trace of hostility in her eyes.

But at this time, Fey did not have the time to care about this little girl who had yet to even grow her hair.

His thoughts were currently a mess.

“God damn, wasn’t I at the entrance to my dorm when I suddenly got hit on the head by something? How did I end up in some Chambord which I’ve never even heard of after waking up? And I’ve even become some king named Alexander? Plus, this beautiful lady in front of me who’s even more beautiful than fairies is actually my fiance?”

“Is this a prank? Or... Have I transmigrated into another world?”

“It doesn’t seem like I’m being pranked. The beauty of this lady named Angela is simply out of this world. Who would even be able to pay her to play a prank on me? Would she even bother with such a matter?”

“In addition, that blond girl with a sharp tongue in the distance is pretty damn cute as well.”

“Most importantly, I’m able to understand and speak this strange ancient language which I’ve never even heard of in the past...”

In his head, Fey quickly analyzed the situation he was in.
