The forces of Heaven and Hell broke down.
The highest servants of Heaven did not know what to do without God to give them their purpose.
The greatest followers of Hell began to fight each other without Lucifer to bring them in line.
However, there were those among the lower levels of Heaven and Hell who desired to be free of endless conflict.
The angels closest to humanity chose to abandon Heaven to protect what remained of humanity in the aftermath of the Final War.
The demons that were the weakest among Hell fled and sought strength and protection in numbers, allying with humans trying to survive.
In time these various groups made contact with each other. While they were wary of one another, time and courage helped bridge the gap and bring them together.
Many generations later, humanity, with help from both angels and demons, has managed to rebuild despite the state of the world.
Cities and communities of humans, angels, and demons now populate the world.
