Chapter 1

The mirror loomed over them as they traversed the hallways of the abandoned mansion. It was rumored that no one came alive from it...... they walked looming in the darkness, hearts beating up in their throats. They both shivered in the cold feeling the tension pulled down on them as they went into a room with only a bed and a window.

"We shouldn't be here.'' Sighing as she sat on the polluted bed rubbing his temples.

"But we have to be here. We need to know what happened to the family that died in this house.'' The man said.

"Oh yeah, and what about the three journalists who also died in this house.''

"Yeah I know, but think of it this way, we can finally know what happened and the spirits could finally be put to rest,'' he said.

"I know, Dustin. This is too much and also heartbreaking.'' The woman said.

"Look, Hadassah, we're journalists. Okay, we put in the truth, put in online and you will probably see it on the media.'' Dustin said.

Hadassah huffed. "Okay. Let's get to bed and then we can start tomorrow.''

Hadassah and Dustin lay on the bed getting comfortable as Dustin put his arms around his friend's waist and fell asleep. Hadassah smiled and held his friend's arm and fell asleep.

A few hours later......

A knock sounded on the door waking both Dustin and Hadassah up, they jumped off the bed and went to the bedroom door and opened it, and saw no one, but a letter on the ground. Hadassah and Dustin seemed confused and scared as she picked up the letter and closed the bedroom door.

"A letter?'' Hadassah examined the letter noticing how old the paper looked.

"It must be a prank by Malia, you know how she is,'' Dustin scoffed.

"No, I don't think so. She's in Sweden, remember.''

"Well, hurry to open it.'' Hadassah immediately tore it open and read what was written; 'You can't be here. LEAVE NOW.'

"I don't get it. Who doesn't want us here?'' Hadassah asked.

"Us.'' The two journalists jerked their heads around and saw a man, a woman, a teenage girl, and two little boys sitting on the bed.

Their eyes bulge out as they gasped for air. "You shouldn't have come. They're coming for you." the woman said.

"Who?'' Dustin let out.

"The X's." the man whispered.

"Who are they? Were they the ones that killed you?'' Dustin asked.

The mother gasped. "We said too much. They're here. Leave before you get hurt.'' the family disappeared as the journalists heard a hollow scream passing the hallways they ran out of the room searching for who screamed in this big house.

They walked down the long hallway forgetting to bring their flashlights. When the screams grew quiet then there was silence.

The two little boys stood in the hallway crying and hugging each other.

"Hi, is everything okay?''

"No, we wanna go home.'' one boy said.

"Why don't you?'' Dustin asked.

"We can't. If we do they'll hurt our family.'' the second boy said.

"What family?'' Hadassah said.

The two little boys' grew wide as they disappeared. "That was weird,'' Dustin said.

"Yeah, but didn't you hear what he said, he said 'they'll hurt our family' but their family is dead. So what family is he talking about?''

"I don't know. Man, I didn't know mysteries were this hard. Come on, let's get to bed.'' They both walked back into the room and went in, but were caught off guard by who was on the bed.

A tall man with a cloak around his body and over his head, the only thing you saw was his eyes which were blooded X.

"You shouldn't have come.'' The words pounded into their minds as they held their ears, screaming feeling blood come out as the man screamed, and both Hadassah and Dustin fainted.
