Summary
A bloodthirsty warlord threatens from the West, while spirits draped in stolen flesh appear in the East. The only hope for Kiynan is a young woman and the forgotten magic of an ancient House. An uneasy peace reigns over the myriad peoples of Kiynan. A naive, young King rules uneasily while nobles hunt, courtiers enjoy their entertainment and thieves conduct their illicit business. But in the frigid land of Varice, a bloodthirsty warlord has risen to power, forcing the Iceborn peoples beneath his heel. His lust for conquest still burns hotly and his gaze now turns toward Kiynan. Elsewhere, in the magical, war-torn land of Ornland, demon spirits draped in stolen flesh emerge from the mysterious fallen realm of Lethe, threatening to overrun the continent, or even the world. Perhaps the only hope standing between the world and its doom is a young woman and the forgotten magic of an ancient, fallen House. She must overcome her fears and personal losses to unite or destroy the fragmented armies of the magicians of Ornland, the savage barbarians of Varice and the noble warriors of Kiynan.
