Awesome Story
"If you are reading the reviews before reading the story then please read it. If you are not reading you are missing an awesome plot and I haven't even read whole story but I can say that this is the best. You could wish for."
An Assassin's Tale
"Very well done, a little more grammatical editing and I would say it's perfect. Not too much detail or too little. Not so fast paced as to make it unbelievable, but fast enough to never ever be accused of being boring. Very enjoyable read, thank you."
A Real Thriller
"A marvelously crafted work which kept me turning to the next chapter. Smoothly constructed, clean and concise prose, and few errors (i.e. missing commas) that did not detract from the overall story; editing could easily remedy this. The imagery was excellent and really contributed to the overall quality of the book. The main character is dynamic and realistic. This read very much like a Hollywood movie and several scenes seemed as if I was in the midst of one. I enjoyed the plot twists that were slipped in as well. This was an excellent read and I congratulate the author on such a great effort."
Beautifully written
"Even before the plot thickened I was hooked by the writing style. It's so beautiful, and it drew me further into the story. This is a story with a lot of potential. I'm thoroughly impressed. "
Review
"From start to finish, this book kept my attention. William is a brilliant character and many readers will be able to relate to him. Overall the story is incredible and is a must read. Congratulations on writing this incredible story."
A skillfully written story
"'William Jordan, an Assassin's Tale' is an invellaping tale full of excellent imagery that puts the reader along side William as he goes about his life. The three dimensional characters causes you to become full invested in the main characters adding to the suspenseful moments when you have to keep reading to see what happens next. I found the personal development of William very interesting and his conflict with to give up killing and not give up killing relatable. Since every person can understand giving up an obsession or source of pleasure. As far as grammatical errors I found little to none in this read. At most there were only missed free spaces. This definitely a story I could again and again and it not loss the same feel it when I first read it."
A Story You'll Want to Read
"I just finished this novel, so thank you very much for your patience! I had a lot of thoughts and feelings while reading, but I'll be brief and just highlight the most important ones. First of all, I think the main character, William, is very compelling. He is exactly the type of protagonist I enjoy reading about in an action novel, and I definitely think this is a huge strength of this novel in particular. You allow us insight into his personality and mind, and I really enjoyed that aspect. Secondly, I felt like the plot had a pleasant, natural flow to it. I didn't feel jarred into or out of events, meaning I liked the context you provided along with the clear series of events. Lastly, I have only one criticism and that revolves around the style of writing and the grammar. I want to say right away that your voice is very distinct in this novel, and that is not a bad thing. In fact, I appreciated it in this case. That being said, the actual style of writing and grammar could use a little work. The sentence structure can be a little clunky or choppy sometimes, and every once in a while there is a missed comma. I might suggest including some sentence variation and running through your work for one last grammar check. This critique did not, however, interfere with comprehension. That is my only criticism and I would hate for it to be discouraging because I think you have an amazing story here. I wish you the best of luck with publishing!"
An Assasin's tale
"A highly entertaining novel. Enjoyed reading it from start to finish. It felt as if the author was telling his own story to a greater extent and felt like watching a Hollywood thriller. Absolutely loved it."
A Must Read
"William Jordan: An Assassin's Tale is quite an intriguing novel. The author uses imagery and a great use of language to not only captivate the audience, but to also clearly assess every situation and thicken both the characters and the plot. The story itself is very original and not cliche by any of my standards. The main character, William Jordan, has a complexity to him that I think lacks in other stories on assassins that I've read before. For example, his reasons for becoming an assassin are very human and he's a relatable protagonist that readers can easily root for. He even came with military experience, which gave his character a great reason to explain how he was able to do what he could in a short amount of time. The author also gives places for William to grow as an assassin as the story continues, learning from his mistakes and making him even more relatable to the reader. Alexia was another such character I throughly enjoyed while reading the novel, as she was also very relatable and captivating as a person. It's a great accomplishment to make readers really feel about your characters. Another thing that got me completely enthralled with this story was the imagery it uses with the setting and the assassinations themselves. The author clearly paints the picture, down to the blood stains and disguises. You can tell the author put a lot of research into his story, clearly being able to describe how each victim would look, stains, what the weapons would do, cleaning up things, etc.. The language the author uses to convey all of these things is very addicting, and his use of swearing is not overdone and adds to William's voice as a character. I read this in a matter of TWO DAYS, because the language had me hooked. If there were any errors, they were hard to spot. Clearly, the author knows what he is doing, and it's a joy to have it on Inkitt. I hope it does well in the contest, and to promote it, I might even create a fan fiction for the "When It Hits Fan Fiction Contest" (since they're supposed to be on Inkitt novels.) GOOD LUCK TO THE AUTHOR, AND I'D LIKE TO CONGRATULATE HIM FOR DOING AN OUTSTANDING JOB. :D"
Holy Cow
"As far as content is concerned, I will say one word. WOW! This author totally captured my attention from prologue to epilogue. The research as well as personal experience that went into writing William's first novel was great. First novel, yes, I did say that. This book is well worth reading. I loved it. Honestly, when I got to the end, I found myself wondering about more adventures with William and his little family. That is up to the author, but I would love to see some more, even just a little. That being said, there are some serious grammatical errors that need to be addressed. One of them being the ending seems a bit rushed. Once these are corrected, this story will be a contender. Read William Jordan, an Assassin's Tale. I am absolutely certain you will enjoy it."
Detailed and enjoyable
"This book is definitely a must-read for anyone who likes dark stories with 3D characters, a wealth of research, and a glimmer of hope. The plot kept me hooked from the beginning to the end. It was always fascinating to see what William would do next. I love the detail that went into each assassination he performed, whether they were done up-close and personal or from a distance. The characters felt very real to me throughout the story. I loved the dynamic between Victoria and William. Their interactions from the first time he saw her to everything he does for her later on are extremely powerful and affecting. You also have a knack for creating very hateable characters, making the conflict between William and his aggressors even more intense. The writing style was entertaining. I like that you really just state outright what happens rather than beating about the bush. It adds more to William's character as well as making the narration downright funny at times. The only issue I ran into during this read through were issues with the punctuation. In a few cases, it was typos, but other times it was issues with sentence structure (run-on sentences that needed to be divided up, missing periods and commas, etc.) I could try and point out specifics with the Inkitt feedback system or on a google doc if you wanted. All in all, this was a really fun read and quite the emotional roller coaster, and I have no doubt that it will eventually be published. Great work!"
A Dark, Disturbing Tale
"For those of you who like your stories dark, your action fast, violent and bloody, your narrative full of pace and energy, this is for you. The main character is complex and fascinating, showing tenderness and strong values at one moment and unleashing violent retribution the next. A fast-paced tale which will keep you on the edge of your seat. But not for the faint-hearted."
An Entertaining Read
"I enjoyed the story but it was skeletal in detail. The author needs to pack more detail and atmospherics into the story structure. I rarely got the sense of the settings in which the story took place. A reader should be able to determine a setting by its description rather than being told this is such and such a place. The writing style was fast-paced such that scenes went by in a blur. I liked the surprise ending although it could have been better executed. Lastly, the author needs to work on his grammar and punctuation. Overall, a good effort for a first time writer."
