Chapter 1

My alarm rings at 5 am like every normal weekday.

Ugh. Why does it has to be monday. I don’t want to go to school. My classmates are so childish. We are the hated class of school! All teachers AND other students HATE us! And I have to be part of that class...

I’m actually a pretty decent student. Learning, paying attention in class, not coming too late... my marks are average, I’m not very good but I work hard.

But in this class it’s so hard to work... the teachers have that almost solid mindset that all students don’t care about learning and don’t take teaching seriously, which I guess I can’t blame them for...

Ugh thinking about that is just getting me down...

Well! Time to get up and just go!

I force myself out of bed and enter my little bathroom to take a quick shower. After that I dry my hair, get dressed and eat some cereal.

On the way to the bus stop I listen to some music on my phone and sit down on my usual small wall, waiting for the busdriver to be done with his break and go.

He puts his newspaper away and starts the engine, driving forward to the stop to let people in.

And he’s not here yet again. That guy I swear.

I jump off the wall and head to the bus doors. One last look to the left and there he comes running around the corner. Like pretty much every day.

I have to hold back laughter seeing him run like his life’s on the line to the bus.

Being the last one to enter, I stand in the door with one foot, waiting for him.

The bus drivers are often the same and know our drill.

“He’s late again I see?”

I see the bus driver make eye contact with me in the mirror and I nod, chuckling a little.

“Yep but he’s almost here. Thanks for always waiting.”

I smile and he smiles back, nodding.

“Can’t let you kids come late now can I?”

Shortly after the guy running for his dear life arrives and the bus goes. He needs a second to catch his breath. Then he puts his stupidly smug grin on and holds out his fist out to me.

“Morning Cass.”

I rolly eyes at his attempt to be cool towards me and hit my fist against his.

“Morning Dam.”

Like always after our greeting, we sit a bit away from each other and ignore the other is there for the rest of the drive.

Once it’s time to change the bus, we both get out and he greets his 2 best friends.

“Morning Cass!”

They extend their fists to me and I hit them.

“Morning guys.”

After that same procedure as before, except they’re laughing together and talking.

Listening to my music, I sit far away from them and wait for the bus to stop at our stop. I get out and walk towards school together with the other students that just arrived too.

When the bell rings at 7.45 as a sign, we can enter the school building, I put my headphones in my bag and wait until most of the students are inside. I hate pushing and shoving.

I approach the glass case with the notes of today’s missing teachers and the replacements for the classes. Nothing written about mine. Alright.

I head to the stairs to get to my classroom on the 2nd floor.

Most of my classmates are already there, sitting on benches in front of the classroom, chatting with each other.

I pass them and lean against the wall, looking out of the window.

Our teacher comes and unlocks the door so everyone shoves and pushes to get in while I wait. Inside I sit down in my seat in the front row next to the window. I always hated sitting in the front and prefer the back but in this class, I can’t understand anything sitting there so I asked to move and my class teacher gave me the Ok.

I still hear the annoying whispers of the others but at least I can focus a little better here. It’s 7.55 so I decide to take out my things and look out the window again.

“Hey Cass.”

I turn my head to the side, hearing Damian call my name and sigh.

“What do you need this time?”

He smiles his idiotic smile and puts his hands together in a plea.

“Can you lend me a pen?”

I take the pen, which you could say I only have for him if he needs one, and hand it to him casually.

“Thanks. You’re the best.”

I nod a half assed ‘you’re welcome’ at him and turn my head to the window again.

Hell! He will never change! Always so unprepared! Is it so hard to take school supplies with you?! Every day he asks me for something!

I roll my eyes at that thought and let out a quiet sigh.

Well what do I expect. I’m so used to it after so many years, I even have a pen prepared…
