Prologue
As he was singing, he felt it. Adrenaline. The man with dance moves that could rival the best hip-hop dancer, glanced into the crowd when his lines were finished. You are out there, one of you. He could barely control his excitement and focus on his performance.
It was the second half of the performance and all the members were spread out on the stage, interacting with army. He almost just wanted to shout out to the crowd, We have a plan! His blond hair bounced as he jumped up and down in excitement.
He forced himself to move from this section of the stage, and as he passed the black-headed rapper, he gestured for him to remove his earpiece.
“How will we ever choose one? There is something about section four,” indicating where he has just been dancing.
The black-headed rapper raised his eyebrows and gave him a nod before heading over to where the blond dancer had just been. He tried not to react as a feeling of peace washed over him. A relaxing, content feeling, as if all his worries had disappeared. He too searched the crowd. He felt relieved in knowing that army will have content directly from them. I will know you. He almost forgot he was supposed to be performing next until someone nudged him.
He looked around to find the eldest member beside him, looking at him with a concerned expression. He gave him a nod to show him he was fine and watched his expression change to one of shock. The eldest member felt it too. At that moment the black-headed rapper acknowledged that something wasn’t quite normal, but he put it down to excitement and pushed the thought to the back of his mind.
The eldest was staring at the rapper who had seemed distracted when a feeling of joy overcame him, and he could’ve sworn he heard a faint laugh echoing in his ears. The black-headed rapper nodded to him and walked away as the eldest looked out into the crowd. He just felt happy he could meet someone new, someone, who wasn’t a whole crowd of people. I can’t wait to laugh with you. The sudden absence of music brought him back to reality and he realized the song had ended.
He looked back at the other members. The youngest rapper was being his usual self, upbeat and happy. His energetic tone to his music was something amazing to see in his performance. His fun, colorful mix of kids and street fashion outfit was a bit extra but it sure was expressive.
The youngest of the group was trying his best to distract their leader, now and again leaning forward from his sitting position to pull on the leader’s shirt. When he didn’t get the response he wanted, he jumped up and ran like a crazed bunny toward the blond dancer. He had a water bottle and the eldest could only shake his head as he saw the youngest turn off the cap and throw water at the dancer. The blond dancer pretended he was melting, much to the happiness of army. The youngest finally happy with the reaction, sat down and smiled. Chaotic, the eldest thought.
At that moment he felt arms wrap around him from behind.
“Hyung! Isn’t army the best? Give them your smile!” The eldest smiled broadly as he looked back and couldn’t help the warmth he felt when he saw the cutest boxy smile. With his tan skin and messy hair that always gets in his eyes, He looked unreal.
“When it’s my turn to talk to ami I will give them a worldwide smile.” The young man smiled even broader before his face turned blank, “Hyung are we really doing it? one of them?” The eldest smiled and nodded as the young man looked out at army, the eldest was not at all sure what the young man was thinking.
The man with the boxy smile did not feel like smiling now. He didn’t have a good feeling about this, and just like the youngest rapper said, they don’t need to do this.
He looked over to their leader and this time he did smile. The leader’s Compassion and Dedication to bringing them as a team closer together is just something he would always look up to. Our leader looks like he is having fun for a change. Not controlling those emotions now, are we? As he noticed the leader suddenly swing his head towards him, his blue mic falling to the ground, making the other members laugh out loud and army cheer like crazy.
The leader was busy talking to army when he felt someone staring at him. Look it’s a concert, all armies are staring at us, but this was one of those sixth sense-activated stares. He looked sharply to the left and noticed the tanned man who had the softest smile on his face looking right at him. At that moment he felt an unnerving excitement build up in him, almost as if he was seeing Kwon’s moon jars for the first time again. He looked past the tanned man into the crowd, and through the sea of fans, his eyes landed on the deepest frown he had ever seen.
Tonight they were putting their plan into action. He was quite confident this is what they needed to do. It’s a hard world they work in. You make your own future and this was how he was planning to keep BTS relevant in their upcoming absence. One person from the crowd would be chosen. The leader smiled at the frowning girl. You. you will be the one.
Little did they all know, where reality and fantasy meet, things never go according to plan.
