Sweet Love Story
"I thought this was a really sweet story. The whole idea behind sticking to your promises, even a promise made so many years ago before they even knew what love was is lovely. Great work! Keep it up :) "
Good story and conflict
"The pace of this and the relationships are good. There was realistic conflict between the characters and internally to bring some depth to the book. There were places where some commas were needed and a few misspellings. There was also a change from first person to third at one point. In the first chapter especially, it jumped around a little bit without any sort of break, so that was a little confusing. It's a good beginning with what I'm glad to see are the makings of a healthy relationship, which is important to represent in all forms of entertainment. "
The Pinky Promise
"I loved this a lot, it was easy to understand, and it was good to kind of get lost in the reading. The characters were amazing, and I felt as if they were real human beings, you're truly talented, and i enjoyed reading this :)."
So interesting!
"I love this so far! The characters are all feeling realistic, and I like that. The writing style is easy to read and follow, which is great. I didnt notice any errors either. It was a hooking story and easy to get into. Love the premise, too. My kind of book! "
Must read
"I liked the plot. I will recommend anyone in this platform to read. Only dislike is that it’s short!"
SO GOOD!
"It's hard for me to find a book I genuinely enjoy on here, and I found what I liked in this one. The plot blew me away with how frickin' genius it was. I loved it soooooooooooooooooooooo much. A pinky promise. AH! GENIUS! My favorite character is probably Skylar. She seems like a cool friend. But I also like how rounded out these characters are getting. However, I felt like it was a little fast paced, and maybe next time have a few more chapters before the hot tub scene. But, I did really really like it, so far. I want more chapters! I feel like it's be such a twist if they ended up NOT getting together. Because the basic romance structure is; Go on first date Go on another Date Find out one of them has something they're hiding Falling out Reunion Happily ever after I love how it's going so far. I really wat Chloe and Austin together, but again I think it's be cool if like on of her friends started to like him. That might sound insane, but again, no story is ever THAT perfect. But I LOVED IT! So please oh please oh please keep writing. I'M NOT EVEN JOKING! I love it so much! P.S. Suggested this to a friend"
the pinky promise
"I liked how the author takes the time to really dive into how Chloe feels about the whole situation. Overall, definitely a book I’ll be continuing to read!"
The Pinky Promise
" Spoiler alert The story is good, it's a bit fast written, but you can slow it down and add more detail about the relation between the characters. The idea is looking good but if you can more realistic, I mean the relationship is healthy but it has little to no conflict. What was her reaction after the release of the paternity test? Why is she going on a vacation to relax, to forget about what happened, or because she wanted to go and at the same time it put some distance between her and Austin? Do they talk about them having children but some past chapter talk about taking things slow? Why do they make the promise, who comes up with the idea, and what are their past fillings? I mean if you make a promise about marrying they saw a movie and wanted to do the same or one of them comes up with the idea because she or he was in love with the other? Why didn't they try to be together then if they had feelings for each other? I'm not from America, but I don't think that college students talk like this, I mean it sounds more like high school to me, also if she just graduates what are her plans for the future, in the book says something about a job after the summer, but is she qualified enough, I know that in philology you have to have some kind of internship and maybe a bachelor degree? She wants something like a private workplace or she wants to work in the hospital? The book is good and has great potential, I don't want to be mean but I think you have to think a little about their past and their future plans, like you can't write that they want four children together but when they think about their jobs it doesn't matter? I mean she doesn't know what she wants about her job and Austin if he quits Army what can he do, he does not have a college degree only a high school degree."
Great book
"The plot of the book is good. Great even. I feel like the characters need to be a bit mature. For college graduates, they talk and act like high school students. Also, I feel like that Chlo and Austin's relationship happened too fast. There hasn't been any huge obstacle for the couple to go through. A bit more spice and ups and downs could really improve the book. If we could have a few more flashbacks or scenes on how Austin and Chlo became friends and how their relationship was would improve the book. It would help to deepen our(readers) emotional attachment to them. I did notice a few grammatical errors but nothing too serious. I feel Chlo is a bit childish though. But that's just my opinion really. Overall, it was a pretty interesting read. Can't wait to see what happens next. Ps.:I absolutely love the plot"
Good Start
"I like the story, but I'm waiting for something to set it apart from other romances - to give it some flavor because as of right now there's no... Contention. I will also say that the characters do not speak/act their age. As a college student about to graduate who has (fortunately and unfortunately lol) went out with MANY a military man of this age, we/they simply do not act or speak like this. It's true, military guys are notorious for wanting to get married, but honestly they act like children. They really do. 22 year old men are just... hot messes, and so are 22 year old women! Albeit, some of the dialogue feels like they're speaking like teenagers, which is also not how college-aged people speak or act. There needs to be a bit of a balance between everything is super serious while also speaking like they're in high school. The romance also moves super fast, despite her saying to take it slow. I def think it needs to slow down and be more of a slow burn, add some give and take, make him chase her or vice versa, give them some obstacles. It just feels too... Perfect? I just need something a little more spicy to thicken up this plot. Overall though, the writing is good. Some technical errors but not a lot and it has a good flow, it's just the dialogue that could use some work and that's mostly because of characterization. (This is also a side note, but if she is a Psych grad, she'll def need to go to graduate school cause you literally can not do shit with a bachelors in psych (trust me, I know lol) so I feel like she would have already applied to grad programs or would be taking a gap year, and if she wants to be a therapist or work in mental health you really cannot be moving around when you do that, so that's just food for thought) Kudos and good luck!"
Overall, a somewhat decent read.
"**I'm going to rate this a 4.9/10 for the entire story because it isn't good enough to quite be a three and not bad enough to be a two** This book was overall interesting. The fact that Chloe and Austin got together after the pinky promise that they made was really cool and it was nice to see them develop in their relationship. I wish that the conflict with Blair/Briar (you used those names interchangeably in the 10th chapter) had more meat to it. It was too quickly resolved. It was half of the ninth chapter and the rest of the tenth chapter and boom, all done. We're cool. It didn't interest me. There was no drama. I also might be wrong here (I've never dated anyone- :)) but Chloe overacted when she found out about Austin's supposed child. He didn't cheat on her, and it was 3 months after that when he came to her. Yes, she believed at the time that he had another child, but Blair/Briar didn't become pregnant while they were dating. And then she just broke up with him, when, if she loved him so much, she should've at least thought about hearing what he had to say. Maybe make this part make some more sense? Also, again, I may be wrong here, but are they too mature for college students? They talk (almost) everything out, plan their futures, and I feel like anyone who had just graduated would've thrown themselves into something like that. And then- WHAM!- you get hit with this random sex scene. Can I ask why? They were so mature about this just for them to randomly and recklessly do that. I want there to be more consistency, again. And is the story finished? I want to know. It just kinda ends at the tenth chapter and as far as I know, that's it. One last thing- the story just didn't intrigue me. There was no mystery, no thickening of the plot, no worthwhile characters that made me want to keep reading. Maybe more conflict sooner, or a bad character (everyone is so nice! And noble!), or something that makes me curious. I really liked the idea. I just wish that the execution was better. "
