Contest Terms

• Your story must be set during the winter season, and must include the following line at the start of your story to be eligible: "As the first snowflake settled, it whispered secrets of a winter tale waiting to unfold."
• The contest will run from 21st of December 2023 to the 19th of March 2024. All submissions within this date will be counted as contest submissions.
• The winners will be announced within the following 3 weeks on Inkitt's social media channels and on Inkitt.com.
• The minimum word count per submission is 5,000 words by the contest end date. There is no maximum word limit.
• Entering the contest is free; all that is required is to start writing your book on Inkitt and submit it on the contest page.
• You do not need to wait to have a completed story before you submit it to the contest. Works in progress are encouraged, but just make sure they are completed by the time the contest comes to an end.
• Stories must be original works. No plagiarism will be tolerated.
• Entries part of a series that have been signed to or published on Galatea are not eligible to enter.
• Stories behind a paid tier under the Subscription program are not eligible to enter.
• Stories can be written in any genre as long as they are fiction. Non-fiction, fan-fiction and poetry are not eligible.
• Winners will be chosen by the popularity and bingability of their stories, taking into account likes, comment, number of readers, readers behaviour and others.
• Authors cannot enter a contest more than once with the same story, but an author may submit as many books as they want.
• We collect data on your submission from the day it's received. You must own the rights to the novel. You retain all rights to your stories while posted on Inkitt.
• Stories must abide by Inkitt's community guidelines. No glorification of non-consensual sexual acts. Please check the Terms of Service on our website first.
• All federal, state and/or local taxes, fees, and surcharges are the sole responsibility of the prize winner.
• All prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable, not for resale, and cannot be exchanged. The prizes are supplied in good faith and Inkitt cannot be held responsible for any changes or cancellations.
