Chapter 1: New News!
I, Lisa Colbert, have always been a smart, bubbly and determined young lady. Standing at average height, I am accompanied by my mother, father, and big brother. Whenever my attention is not directed towards school, I like to scribble thoughts in my journal. In addition, I love musical instruments. Although I am not the best, I do enjoy playing various types of music on instruments, specifically classical. But my dearest hobby is cooking and baking. Spaghetti, chicken, casserole, pizza, chocolate fudge cookie, cakes, you name it!
Recently at Bridgewood High School, there has been talking of this year’s upcoming Blizzard Bonanza Bakeoff. There will be a total of 126 participants, ranging from grades 9-12. Me, my friends, and my family plan to place first in this bake-off and take home the grand victor award and gifted 1,000 dollars. But of course, where there’s good, it is also bad. There will be many competitors during this year’s bakeoff—almost twice as many as there were last year. Mary Roberts, the reigning Bridgewood High School bakeoff champion, will be there. Every year, the students at Bridgewood High School hear the same thing: “Congratulations to Mary Roberts, this year’s Bridgewood Hight School Bakeoff champion!” She is undefeated and always has the best and tastiest desserts anyone could ask for. I, Lisa will have to create something phenomenal!
