1. The sorcerer's Agony
☆Sinfonia Magical Academy; dating almost 200 years back, stood towering over the land of Arcania. Every year, competent wizards would soar to the best of their abilities to shine and make their place in Arcania. Being 'just a wizard' is never enough; according to the reputable ancestors. The powerful you are, the more prestigious. In this unjust race for gaining a status worth living, many of the sorcerers lose their individuality. While on the other hand, there are prestigious sorcerors such as headmaster Adris Blackwood; who spent his whole life in raising exceptional sorcerors. He always believed this one Motto, "The light will always vanquish the darkness."
With that in mind, he was ready to make a grand announcement for the future of the Sinfonia Academy, unaware of the consequences his decision would bring forth and the evil that would follow.
☆The path to the grand Hall of Sinfonia was moonlit and the bright moon illuminated the dark night sky, casting a mystical ambience. A gentle breeze blew by, causing the leaves of the trees to rustle softly, but the night remained still and serene.
In contrast with the hush outside, the Great Hall was filled with an air of agitation and anticipation as the students and faculty alike sought to find their seats in time for the upcoming graduation ceremony, with the election of a new headmaster soon to follow.
As everyone took a seat, two powerful professors, Professor Araxus and Professor Morbus Stone, stood before the podium alongside the rest of the staff of professors. The two were friendly rivals, though their reasons for running for headmaster differed. Morbus was a hardworking and fair sorcerer who simply viewed it as a friendly competition, whereas Araxus was motivated by a lust for power and an urge to have his ego stroked.
Araxus shifted in his seat and chuckled, making a rather bold claim. "I hope you don't keep high expectations, Morbus. We are both aware of who will ultimately prevail."Morbus smiled in response. "Very well. May the best sorcerer win this vote then."
The election ceremony began, and among the crowd, a pair of sorcerers stood out: Zade Harith and Elissa Gray. Unlike the other students, they were intently focused on the potential success of Professor Araxus. Elissa chuckled and told Zade, 'I am certain Professor Araxus will triumph. Right?' But Zade remained focused on the blonde woman in the front rows. Elissa sighed and said, 'Get over her, Aurora isn't interested, and you're distracted. We're graduating soon.' Zade broke out of his trance and shaked his head dismissively. "I'd rather have you be quiet Elissa." He warned in a cold tone before turning his attention to the podium. Elissa sighed before speaking,
"Aurora will slip through your fingers soon enough," Zade responded stoically. "She was never truly mine to begin with."
Headmaster Adris finally arrived on stage to make the much-awaited announcement. With bated breath, the whole hall expected to hear who the successor would be. After completing formalities, he finally declared: 'The new Headmaster of the Sinfonia Magical Academy is none other than our respected Professor Morbus Stone!''
Morbus, being well-loved by the students, was greeted with a warm cheer when they heard that he had become the new headmaster. Elissa nearly bit her tongue in disappointment, while Zade maintained his gaze on Professor Araxus, who appeared stunned and disoriented, as if attempting to maintain control of his anger.
Morbus knew just how badly Araxus desired to become the headmaster, and looked at him with this in mind. Before Morbus could utter a word, Araxus cut him off,"Don't try to say anything. You betrayed me, and there'll be no escape from my wrath!" He yelled, and stormed out of the hall, leaving everyone else in a state of stunned silence. Professor Adris sighed and formally handed Morbus the magical key to the academy.
Following the dramatic event, the graduation ceremony swiftly followed. As soon as the event drew to a close, Zade hurried to locate Professor Araxus. He walked into his office and found Araxus muttering words of disbelief and denial. 'No...This cannot be happening" he kept repeating. Zade attempted to speak, but was quickly ordered to leave, with the warning that Araxus required time alone. Zade acquiesced and left him in the office.
Being left alone, Araxus' thoughts were filled with all of the evils and wicked things he had ever seen or heard of. He wanted to unleash a primal scream and destroy everything surrounding him. For so long, he had only desired power over others, but now something dark was stirring within him, and his desire for destruction was stronger than his lust for control and power.
His mind was so consumed by agony and his soul so wracked by anguish that Araxus finally succumbed to a feeling that his salvation, his liberation, could only be achieved through destruction.
I was in darkness so darkness I became
