Chapter 1

Cathy pedaled her bike around the corner. She couldn't understand why Mike had asked to meet her at their neighborhood pond. When she got there though she saw he'd also called Billy the hog, who was busily crunching on a candy bar. He'd also called Sarah, Cory the show off, Alex the know it all and Tina who was the ultimate girly girl. "Hey, Mike, what's going on?" Cathy asked once she'd joined the group. Mike didn't address her outright instead he raised his voice and asked over the chattering teens "is everyone here?" A little voice suddenly echoed from across the street "Tina, wait for me!" Little Leah started pedaling her training wheels towards the group. "Tina, tell your little sister to go home, tell her to go play with her Barbie dolls." From the sound of Mike's voice you'd think Leah was a rattlesnake. "What's going to hurt one time guys?" They were still not happy about the little girl joining them but they reluctantly agreed. "Fine, she can come this time" growled Mike. He then got back to the matter at hand and he picked up the small chest he'd brought with him. It was old and rusted and it freaked when he opened it. Resting inside of it were eight gems, each one hung on a string, they were lovely. "They're beautiful!" Leah said joining the little group. Then something strange began to happen. The stones began to glow and a single thread sprang out from each of the stones. They tore their way through the group reaching the child that was born in that month. The ruby tore its way through reaching to the quiet Sarah. The diamond reached little Leah. Then Billy got the distinct feeling he was floating. It seemed that the grass, the sky even the world itself seemed to be spinning either that or Billy's eyes were going crazy the others were experiencing similar sensations. "Mike, what's going on?" He couldn't answer because he didn't know. Then as if they'd been floating in the air they began to fall to the ground below!

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me. How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...
