The store
On a rainy day, I was walking around the city, with my umbrella, aimlessly, just for the sake of taking a few steps among the people.
Few people on the street and all unfamiliar faces, men, women, old people, children, dogs, in short, the usual monotony.
Passing by a store I see inside a saleswoman looking at her smartphone, nothing in particular, however the way she was absorbed in her world struck me.
Without thinking about it too much, I kept walking, the rain was diminishing, so I decided that I would walk for a while longer, until it would stop completely.
After about half an hour I notice that the rain is starting to intensify again, so I decide it’s time to head back toward home.
As I walk I remember the saleswoman in the store and that she had caught my attention, so instead of taking the short route home, I decide to stretch to walk past that store again.
By now it was almost closing time, so I hasten my pace, fearing that I would not arrive in time.
Continuing to walk briskly, I arrive again in front of the store and she was still there absorbed in her phone.
I didn’t need anything, it was only a few minutes before the store closed, she probably would have seen me as the annoying customer who comes in at the last minute, but I didn’t care and went in anyway.
Going in I said hello and she responded to the greeting, telling me that if I needed anything it would be enough to ask her.
I walked around the store for a while pretending to be looking for something, even though I needed absolutely nothing.
A minute passed, maybe two or three, and she occasionally looked up from her phone to check what I was doing, until she asked, what are you looking for?
She caught me off guard, and I didn’t know what to say in response, so I walked toward her and said I was looking for empty cartons because I had to put things in a storage room.
As I was saying that, I realized it was the stupidest thing I could think of.
She in a very professional way told me that she was sorry, but they don’t sell cartoons.
In saying this she had gotten up from behind the counter, probably getting ready to close, just then I noticed her beautiful eyes and her bursting breasts, though well concealed behind her clothes.
I stood motionless for a few moments, she sensed this moment but mistook it for disappointment in not finding the cartons.
So she said, look we don’t sell cartons, but in the back in the store I might have something, let me go and check.
I breathed a sigh of relief realizing that I had not made a bad impression.
In the meantime she had opened the back door and gone to check for cartons.
Perhaps haste, perhaps a moment of distraction, but she left her phone on the counter, so I could not resist the temptation to peek.
I was amazed when I saw the display, I thought he was watching Instagram, a YouTube video, or chatting on Whats App, and no, she was reading a story.
And the thing that left me really amazed was the type of short story, the title was “Erotic short stories: Sex with a stranger”.
I couldn’t read anything else, however, because after a few moments, she came back with 3 cardboard boxes, asking me if those could go well.
I was going to tell her, that those boxes were small (so I didn’t have to take them home, also because I didn’t need them), but I didn’t have time to open my mouth, that someone opened the door.
She with a glance looked at the clock and said, sorry, we are already closed.
So without saying a word the person who had not even entered the store, said goodbye and left.
At that point I told her that I was sorry to waste her time, and that the boxes were too small and therefore would not fit.
So I was ready to say goodbye to her and go out, right at that very moment she said, look we have more big ones in the back, come with me so you can pick the ones you want.
Impressed by her kindness and enchanted by her voice and eyes, I decided to accept the invitation and choose boxes as big as they were useless to take home LOL.
I was about to cross the threshold to the back room as well, when she said, just a moment I’m going to close the front door, because now we are closed and so no one comes in anymore.
