Dream Partners

The jungle felt like a maze that ran on forever, as Andrea desperately continued her futile attempt to outrun the monster behind her. She had just found a beautiful tiara in an ancient temple and unfortunately for her, she stumbled upon a booby trap releasing the beast as she exited. She continued to run until she tripped and twisted her ankle and now found herself staring into the face of the four-eyed beast and its gigantic Maw. She closed her eyes and waited for the inevitable until her friend Jay came and swooped her up just in time. They continued swinging from vine to vine until they reached their treehouse.

Just as they were about to sit down and enjoy some bubble tea and admire today's findings; "riiinnnnggg".Andrea's alarm woke her up and she threw her pillow, muttering the words "damn it every time" as she got up and got ready for work. After getting ready, she hopped into her car and drove to her job at Slabmart, she was a stocker there and liked it very much despite being hit on every day by at least one customer. Andrea didn't really see what all the hubbub was about, she was just your average 5'6 Hispanic girl with long curly hair and a petite but semi-curvy figure...absolutely nothing worth flirting over she thought, but nevertheless, she knew that men would try to get into anything nowadays.

Andrea came in and got right down to work, however, she noticed her work was sloppy today and that she couldn't stop thinking about Jay and their next adventure...after all, this wasn't the first time she had met him. In fact, he had been in every dream of hers for the last 4 weeks now and it was getting weird because she had never seen this guy in real life ever, and she would certainly remember seeing him on television. She had even seen him during her power naps or whenever she fell asleep at any given time.

[Flashback 4 weeks ago]

Andrea had just prepared to go to sleep after a long day at work but tonight she would barely get any rest. Andrea fell asleep and woke up in a bowling alley wearing bowling attire with her nieces. She had just rolled the ball and scored a strike when she turned around and noticed this boy bowling all by himself. Standing at 6'1 with golden skin, and black curly hair, he was gorgeous and immediately caught her eye. She smiled and said "Hey you, why don't you come over and play with us" and he smiled and said "Okay". She introduced herself and said "Hi my name is Andrea" and he said "Hi my name is Jay", nice to meet you.

She wrote his name on the scoreboard and told him to go first but he absolutely bombed every shot repeatedly until she had enough and said "Here let me teach you". It took about 30 minutes but after she was done he was bowling magnificently and having lots of fun with her until "bump". Andrea woke up after she fell off her bed and sighed saying "he was perfect too" and after getting back in bed she went right back to sleep". When she went back to sleep, she woke up again but in an arcade with Jay. She walked over to him and said "Jay" as they hugged and spent the day playing and having fun until "riiinnnnggg" Andrea had to get up for work.

After a week, things began to turn weird. Jay showed up in every dream of hers and she avoided him and tried to play it cool hoping it would go away, while he secretly did the same until one night Andrea fell asleep and decided it was time to confront him. She woke up in a park with Jay in the far distance and she got up and marched over to him. She grabbed him and said, "why do you keep following me? Are you an alien trying to communicate with me in my dreams?". He laughed and said "No but you're the one following me". She blushed and said "I'm not" and Jay said, "Maybe we're each other's dream friend or something... So can we at least try to get along and enjoy our dreams together?"

She smiled and thought to herself, "Well he is cute and this is a dream so what the heck" as she shook his hand and said "Truce". Over the next 4 weeks, they went on all types of adventures from safaris to nightclub parties and they got close to each other during it. Jay caught Andrea's attention and he also unknowingly stole her heart but it was okay because she stole his too. Tonight Andrea woke up at a tropical resort on an unknown island and just as she sat up, Jay came in and handed her breakfast he had made. She smiled and said "Thank you" as she got up and walked into the living room area of their suite. It was massive with beautiful bamboo flooring, walls, and furniture. It also had one wall that was nothing but glass which gave a wonderful view of the beautiful tropic ocean, the whole suite had an island hut vibe.

After eating, he walked over, sat next to her, and said "You look even more gorgeous than the last time we met". She blushed and said"T-thanks Jay".He smiled and laid out a brochure of all the things they could do and see on the island. Andrea said"What do you want to do?" and he smiled and said, "It's up to you, I'm down for whatever". Throughout the day he kept his promise as he followed her wherever she went, including the spa, where he got his nails done and his body waxed. He hated that and the dance classes but it was all worth it to see her smile. Despite trying to hide his disenjoyment in the super girly activities, Andrea did notice and thought it was very sweet of him to do that. He also paid for everything and denied her attempts to repay him, but this was only icing on the cake of love.

A few nights after the resort dream, Andrea had a terrible nightmare that some evil dark figure with red eyes took over their dream city called Dreamtopia, where her and Jay would play and roam throughout their dreams together. As they ran through the streets filled with dead corpses, Andrea was completely overrun with fear and collapsed but Jay turned right back around and hauled her over his back and carried them to the hospital, and barricaded the doors. He held her as she cried until these purplish-blue, humanoid figures came and shoved the black figure with red eyes and horns away, saving their city and resetting everything.

Andrea told Jay that she could walk but he refused to let her and the rest of the day, he took care of her as she was banged up pretty badly and her ankle was sore. It was after that dream that she had fallen for him and continued to fall for him because even after she kissed his cheek, he never stopped being caring, attentive, and selfless when it came to her needs and attention. As for Jay, he never got tired of her being goofy, sweet, and also caring as well as relatable and just so down to earth with him, he loved her personality and her beauty and those feelings grew even more with each dream they had over the next 2 weeks after the incident.

[End flashback]
