Chapter 1
Hushed voices. Close. Female voices. Older. Around mid fourties. Footsteps. Perhaps pacing. Whovever they are, they are in the same room. Only about a meter away... " Im sorry Mary, he's gone." Mary. I vaguely recognise that name.Thoughts immediately starting circling in my brain. Who? Who is gone? Where are they? " Dead. My boy. Dead." She let out a large cry. I let my eyes open and stared up at the ceiling not daring to move. More crying. There was a gentle knock on the door. Footsteps. Then the creak of a door opening. Ow. A sharp vicious pain in my stomach. Like someone stabbing me. " Hello Sarah." Sarah. I recognise that name too. "Hello Doctor. Is she ok? Will she live?" Is who ok? Then it hit me. They are talking about me. I adjusted my eyes and without moving a muscle, glanced to my right. Machines. I glanced to my left. More machines. All extremely complicated looking and hooked up to my body. I came to the realisation that i am in a hospital room. " Well after close examination of the x-ray we came to the conclusion that she has a broken rib, leg and a punctured lung." The voice had brought me back to the real world. My leg. Broken? My rib. Broken? My lung. Punctured? My nose. Wait. Hold on.My nose? I cant resist it without moving my arm to stop myself. " ACHOO" OW. Pain coursed through my veins all over my body and i couldn't think of anything other than all the pain that i just caused through one sneeze. Oh no. I sneezed. Everyone came rushing over to my hospital bed and exclaimed : "SHE'S AWAKE!!"
