Chapter 1
Ilika was never a happy child.
She used to play with a pack's kids, but as long as no one saw that, she would be punished, but not her brother.
He had his wolf since he was 16, and it was determined to be a beta one day, because Alpha's son Jeremy and he, Marcus, were best friends, and Marcus was strong enough to be one, that was proven already.
They were orphans, but that didn't matter, they were raised in the pack like all kids without parents.
But, Ilika was different.
She had no wolf, and she was tiny for her age.
She had a perfect body and face, along with her long, light-brown hair, and blue eyes, but she wasn't like her peers.
Everything about her was different, and so was her life in the pack.
She was an omega because not having her wolf and the fact that everybody teased her while she was in school, because of her status, wasn't helping her.
She worked hard, whatever she needed, without asking for help or anything else, while her brother didn't.
He lived the usual life like everyone else in the pack, but omegas were under them, although they were a blessing for the pack, they weren't appreciated, not even a bit.
They gave peace, and the pack had progress with them, but their Alpha Aron didn't see that, especially with Ilika.
Because she was Marcus's sister, she was less appreciated.
It was a disgrace for a child of fighters to be omega in the pack like that was.
Alpha had no wife, just a son that he loved and gave him everything he could because his mother died of a vampire's hand.
Yes, there was a cave that Alpha Aron couldn't stand, even though they were at peace with all vamps and werewolves, because they were the third strongest pack in the country, but with Carden's cavern, he was at war.
Long time a ago, one of his vamps ran away and killed his mate and Luna of a pack, and since then, he hated their guts.
He killed every one of them if they were near his border, and Carden knew that.
But, he didn't do anything, because those weren't his vamps anymore, just those who were outcasts from his cavern.
Anyway, even if he didn't care, that wasn't true.
His people, vamps, needed to be there sometimes and Aron could harm them, he couldn't let that happen, which Aron didn't know.
Just like he didn't know that Crden wasn't a coward like he thought he was.
He just wanted peace, that was all.
Why did he make some of his people go away or become outcasted?
Because they hurt people or any other species, and Carden allowed only animal blood in his cave.
It took him centuries to adopt, but he made it.
He was a pureblood vampire who needed blood like everyone like he was, but since he was the last of his species, he needed to adopt, and he wanted peace.
Like Ilika, he was invisible too.
Not in the same aspect of a word.
She was like a thing that everyone threw around, but he could not be seen.
Everyone knew his name but they really couldn't see him.
It was for those who were closest to him, they could, but others, no.
Not even Alpha Aron didn't know how he looked.
And, he would kill for that.
Although her brother avoided her, always when he could, he didn't let anyone harm Ilika.
He loved her in his way, that was the fact, but he needed to get peace with the fact that she was an omega, and he hated the way they treated her like she was nothing.
He wanted to change that, once when he became a beta of the pack if he could because for now, there was nothing he could do, instead of defending her from harm.
Ilika had her room, together with a few omegas, apart from other pack members, and they needed to be ready at any time of the day for their job.
That was a tough life, especially the fact that they couldn't have things like others, everything was taken from them, they had only basic things, and there was a time when Ilika was hungry too because she couldn't find time to eat.
She dreamt about life better than she had now, but without her wolf, that was impossible.
Now, when she was 18, it was finally time that she appeared, because if not, she would stay doomed for the life that she had now.
She didn't know that her life would change soon in a way that she never could imagine, which would define her destiny, and Carden would be responsible for that in a huge way.
The time came when Aron wanted to give his position to Jeremy, and before that, he wanted to make sure that Carden was dead and burned, which was a little harder than he imagined it would be.
He gathered all of his best warriors, together with a few vamps outcasted from Carden's cave, hoping that they would help him find Carden more easily, which was his first mistake.
He underestimated him.
Carden lived for centuries and no one couldn't tell with certainty where his cave was, second, he could see a lot from someone's eyes, and because of his spies everywhere, he knew what Aron wanted.
He wanted war, and the fact Carden knew it, wasn't helping him.
Carden wouldn't done anything if Aron hadn't killed one of his vamps while he was patroling near Aron's border.
That was too much, even for him.
He tolerated outcasts, but not one of his people that were devoted to him.
The war will be in neutral territory because he could never allow to someone find out his cave and danger his men, and the second was that Aron will be in the same situation too.
That fact will cost him more than he ever imagined.
