My eyes desperately searched for my parents in the crowd as I stood in line with other girls to be sacrificed to the king.

King of Aliyanth. The vicious, ruthless, cruel, high immortal king Cyprus. Who ruled over every living and non living thing including humans, elves, trolls and centaurs. He had thrown over every kingdom including the humans and now ruled over them mercilessly and cruelly through his deadly set of powers . He ruled by Instilling fear in his subjects. Some worshiped him and followed him willingly, some despised him. I was one of the laters.

Where could they be? I hope they are safe. Don’t do anything rash mom and dad. Please! Be safe! I prayed to the gods silently. I searched again all over the crowd as I was held captive on the platform with my hands bound in chains and a guard standing over me. I gave him a glare as he pushed me forward again. He was a centaur. Other girls who stood beside me, laughed and joked among them. dressed in small two pieces of clothes barely covering their intimate parts. They were hoping to seduce the king and sleep with him. Their families happily turned them over in hopes of getting rewards in return for their daughters. Not caring if their Daughters die or live. I scoffed at that. It was rumored the king slept with the virgins. And the sacrifice was made once in a year. While I planned my escape, I hugged my fully clothed body. I was wearing full sleeve long frock. Covering every inch of my skin, except my neck and my face. I wrapped my arms around my torso through the chains . Unfortunately my name was on the list this year. I fought the guards who came to take me to the palace. I injured two of them with by bow and arrow and was about to shot the last two when they threw some powder on me, making me unconscious and fall on the ground. When I woke up I was thrown over a guards shoulder as he took me to the palace of the king. Mom and dad weren’t home when they captured me and I had thanked heavens for that but when my eyes opened, I saw them in the crowd. Following me silently, they signaled me that they are going to rescue me. I panicked and was about to signal them not to do anything rash, but they disappeared into the crowd.

I scanned the crowd again. My worry skyrocketing now. Suddenly, I heard loud gongs and everyone bowed down.

“all hail the high immortal king.” The palace shook with their loud, in unison greeting. I rolled my eyes.

Loud foot steps thudded through out the silent palace and I watched as he strode towards his throne on the high platform and sat down like he own the whole universe. While standing, he was the tallest and the strongest, most powerful creature As it was said. His hulky physic bulging with muscles as he rolled his shoulders and huffed through his muzzle.

“rise” his deep voice echoed through out the whole palace. And everyone rose.

His sharp blue eyes searched the platform slowly and they landed on me. I clenched my jaw as I stared into his sharp, cold gaze. While the other girls flaunt and made flirty motions with their bodies.

“kill them all.” He flicked his hand as he kept his gaze on me. I deep frown etched on my face and my nostrils flared. Ready to attack whoever touches me.

“except this one.” His finger rose towards me and my eyes narrowed. I heard shrieks around me as guards executed them one by one in front of the whole crowd. No one made a protest from the crowd as they knew the consequences of questioning the kinds words. Which was a painful torturous death.

When they have killed everyone. I saw him glancing towards a guard and my eyes widened as my parents came into my view. Being dragged by two guards. I shirked.

“no! Let them go!” I yelled frantically.

“baby!” mom tried to break free and run towards me but the guard punched her in the stomach.

“no!” I shrieked and lunged towards the guard. Rage pulsing through my veins.

“don’t touch her!” I gritted through my teeth as I ran towards him. A horrified look cross eyes. Just as I was about to kick him in the stomach, the centaur pulled me back with his arms.

“let me go!” I kicked my arms backward making his take a step back but he held me ruthlessly.

“it’s okay baby. We are here.” Dads voice reached my ears my head snapped towards him. He made a motion of smile with his two fingers placed at the corners of his lips. Motioning for me to smile. Tears leaked my eyes as he smiled at me. Mom looked at me with so much love as she too smiled.

“kill them!” the kings voice echoed. And my eyes widened.

“no!” I shrieked as I thrashed violently. Trying to break free from the cage of arms. Tears running freely from my eyes now.

“no! Don’t hurt them!” I shouted at the guard who was coming towards them with his large blade.

“mom! Dad!” I shrieked as I thrashed violently. The centaurs nails and grip digging through my skin.

“it’s okay baby!” mom whispered soothingly as she looked at me softly. Her eyes shining with unshed tears as gazed at me with so much love.

Dad raised his two fingers to his lips and placed a kiss. He flipped the side towards me. Sending me the kiss and his love from afar. Mom followed and gave me a kiss as well.

“no! Kill me instead!” I yelled furiously. I shrieked and thrashed as the guard approached them.

“we love you Aesira.” They whispered softly as they kept smiling at me through their unshed tears in both their eyes. I yelled and just as I was able to free my one arm, the guard raised his blade and in a single strike cut down my dad’s head from his neck.

An ear piercing shriek left my lips and just as I lunged at the guard, the centaur grabbed my arm again and held my both arms twisting them on my back. I thrashed and shrieked violently as I tired to get free and go to mom who kept her gaze on me as she smiled at me. A tear left her eye.

“no!” I whispers and shook my head violently as the guard raised his blade again.

An blood curdling scream left my lungs as my mother’s head fell from her neck right in front of me as the guards sliced her head from her neck.

I watched in horror as my mom and dad laid dead in front of me. Tears steamed down my face as I kept struggling and trashing to get free. My gaze fixated on my parents. I was being dragged away but I kept looking at my parents. Just as they were about to push me inside the room, my eyes met the king’s as he watched me with a smirk on his face.

I was pushed inside a room forcefully as I keep struggling silently. The door closed as well as my eyes. my mind and body gave out and I went still. Falling into unconscious and dark world.
