The Magic is Ours

Reina Inoue, a stunning young woman who was born into a rich family in Hosu city. Her father was a criminal lawyer, whilst her mother was a CEO of a Software development company. For all her life, she was spoiled with gifts and presents... but never in love and affection.

It would be a cold day in hell before she recieved a hug or a kiss on the forehead from her mother and father. As being the only child of emotionally neglecting parents, she was a patient soul, still waiting for a hug, even a handshake would've sufficed her. She was a good girl, succeeding and excelling in everything she wanted to try, even mastered her quirk and spellcraft at a young age.

But, nothing was ever enough to get their attention. Yes, she was a good, patient little girl with more love to give than Cupid.

But even girls like her have a breaking point...

A cold evening brushed over Japan, February 28th. A party was going on at the ground floor of the Inoue estate. Upstairs, above the hall, was Reina, putting on a late Victorian evening dress, consisting of the colours midnight blue and black.

Underneath the long dress was her thigh high black boots and pigmented tights. She put her cotton white gloves on, securing them as she's putting on an ink black cloak. Then, she went over to her money jar, pulling out enough money to last her three months worth of rent in a motel room.

Hearing the laughter and the cheering downstairs, Reina questioned if it was wise to leave the place. Yet again, who would miss her? Reina mustered up her courage, taking out one of her marbles. She stood on the window seal, poking her upper body out of the open window.

Reina made a fatal mistake, looking down at the drop. She dropped the marble out of fear, letting it fall. She tried reaching for it, but leant over too far. She fell down, landing in a bush. Luckily, no one saw her.

Reina stood up, brushing her dress and cloak off, before running out of her family's estate. For the first time, she felt free. No bodyguards around her, no one to bother her. That was... until she got spotted three minutes later.

"AY, IT'S A INOUE!!" A sketchy beggar yelled.

Reina turned to the voice, seeing a mob of beggars and muggers running after her. She panicked, running away from them.

"GET HER!!" Another sketchy beggar yelled.

Reina ran faster, pulling out a marble from her glove. She quickly chanted a spell into the marble, throwing it on the ground, activating the spell. A teleportation spell. The sketchy beggars and muggers didn't see the spell happen, thinking Reina disappeared out of sight.

"SHIT!!" A beggar screamed.

Reina was panting, placing her hand over her heart. She sighed, thinking she was now safe. As she turned to continue her way, she was instantly met with a man. Way taller than her, curly brown hair and an attire and makeup that would easily mistake him for a jester. He had a menacing grin plastered on his face, looking down at Reina.

Reina swallowed, looking up at him. "I'm sorry, sir... you startled me. I didn't see you-" Reina mumbled.

"What's a rich girl like you doing in a place like this?" He asked.

Reina was confused, and thought the man was a beggar or a mugger, so she took out all her money. "This is all I have... you can have it, just put it to good use." Reina spoke quietly.

The man frowned. "What- No, I don't want your money. I was asking what you're doing here." The man replied.

Reina held the money towards her. "Oh... well... I teleported here. Using a spell..." Reina explained, taking out one of her marbles. "I cast my magic using marbles... it.. my quirk."

The man's grin grew back once again, as he quickly understood her situation. "Ain't it my lucky day.. I found myself a lost bunny.. a magic bunny." The man said proudly.

Reina blinked twice. "I-I'm not a bunny-"

"Listen, this is a one off thing I'm going to offer. I can let you go, but chances are that you will be chased again by uncooth beggars and muggers, who will stop at nothing to tear you limb to limb, looking for anything valuable on you. Or, stay here, talk to me for an hour or so and I can guarantee you safe passage back to your home or whatever you live in." The man explained. He stuck his hand out. "Deal?" He asked.

Reina looked at his hand, then back up at the man. She took his hand. "Deal. Begin explaining yourself. Who are you?" Reina asked.

The man chuckled. "You don't know who I am?"

"N-No... should I know you?" Reina asked.

"Ah..." The jester tutted. He leaned down, getting close to Reina, to the extent there was no escape for her if she actually wanted to run away. "What a clueless bunny... I'm Oji Harima, the Peerless Thief. The bandit king! Does any of that ring a bell?"

Reina just gave him a blank stare. "No?"

Oji grunted, before asking Reina a question. "What's your name then?"

"Oh... uhm..." Reina mumbled.

Oji leant down closer to Reina. "Unless, you'd rather I call you bunny for the next hour or so?" Oji spoke.

"Reina Inoue! My name is Reina Inoue!" Reina said.

Oji was taken aback. "An Inoue?"

"Yes, my father is a criminal lawyer and my mother is a CEO of a software development company..." Reina replied.

Oji scrunched his face a little, before looking ahead of Reina. The crooks, beggars and muggers found her. Oji grinned, grabbing her waist. "Time to go."
